I looked down at myself and saw that I was going to be an elf this time. I had a chance to decide whether or not to accept the parameters set. I did not even look at the menus again. There were no other changes I wanted to make. It was time to get going and play the game. I was surprised as my body morphed. The mirror let me see my whole body at once. It was not that strange. I always had this type of body. Taking a few steps was exciting. I did things like this often and I loved it. I looked around and saw a door. I walked to it and put my hand on the knob. A popup appeared in front of me saying "You are leaving the character creation room. You will not be allowed to return here again. Are you sure you wish to leave?". I knew that lots of time had already passed. I wanted to hurry and find Suzie. I turned the knob and opened the door. It was a bright white light I could not see through. I guessed I was supposed to walk just through it to get to the game. I did and continued on for what felt like 10 seconds. The world needed to load, I guessed. My eyes blinked twice and I was in a forest.

Nobody approached me when I stood there. It was dark and evening time. My head was on a swivel. Getting my bearings was easy to do. I could walk up and down the alleyway. Jogging, running and sprinting was a very easy task for me as well. The game engine was very intuitive when it came to the full body immersion. I could feel a subtle breeze coming from the big trees. So far, Future of Gaming was earning every penny that was spent. There was a euphoric feeling that rose in me whenever I was in a new world. It just felt nice to be somewhere and someone new. I was getting that feeling here too. That was nice. I let out a whoop of enthusiasm. I covered up my mouth as I did not really want anyone to hear that. I was a bit embarrassing. It also could drag attention to me from negative mobs. I was a very squishy Level 1 Player with no weapons or spells to defend myself with. If I was to get in a fight right at this moment, I would be forced to only use my fists and feet. Punches and kicks were not very effective at my level. If they had weapons or armor of any type, I was totally screwed.

This setting did not track at all with what I was told by Suzie or what I had read myself in the developers' blogs. The forest had no cars driving in it and there really were no people around. Noone was on the streets wearing any modern clothes that I saw in the real world. All I could see was trees. I had to look at the menu and look at where I was. When I saw that I was in an entirely different world, I was upset. "Shit! Where the hell am I then!?" I said as I bit my thumbnail. I looked again and saw that I was in the world of Kattian. I now had to check the menu and learn more about myself. Crime paid, but it was a double-edged sword. NPC bounties for arrest would only grow until the criminal in question was captured or killed. Doing illegal things and getting away with it gave massive exp. to those willing to tussle with the cops and be an outcast to polite society. Since this was clearly not the world Suzie was in, I would have to wait to meet up with her. Maybe I could even ask her to join me on this world. I could try things out here first though. First, I would need to get something started up for us.
