Jacob arrives at work

It was a few hours and a few dozen customers asking for their doughnuts, it did not take long for Cassy to grow tired of all these people. In the quiet time she had reserved herself to standing at the till, waiting for the lunch time rush, she was admiring her phone when a man walked in. He was scrawny and tall, with a loose black shirt, matching colored long hair and stubble, she beamed when she saw her boyfriend Jacob come into the store.
"Hi!" she chimed reaching over the counter to land a peck on his lips, "Thanks for my present!"
"Present?" he echoed confused, he watched his girlfriend pull the necklace out from under her shirt.
Cassy chuckled, "Don't play stupid with me, I found this on my passenger seat this morning."
"I didn't put it there?" he said seriously, "It looks way to expensive for me to afford, is that a real sapphire?"
"I'm not sure," Cassy replied, but now was her turn to looked confused, "If you didn't get it for me, who left it on my seat?"
"That's a strange one," he shrugged, "Did it have a note or anything?"
"Actually it did," Cassy replied, "It was from a guy named John, do you know anyone by that name?"
"Not personally," Jacob thought, "Maybe he's a secret admirer?"
"How did he get in my car?" Cassy was worried, but then she joked, prodding her boyfriend, "At least he got me a present though, unlike some people I know!"
"If I had known you want a present," said Jacob, "I'd have got you flowers..."
Cassy laughed, "I wish..."
