A Week Later:
The new Fiona pouted as she angled her phone to take a selfie. Got to make sure the boobs and the smoothie are both lined up nicely in the shot, she thought, recalling her file's advice on maintaining her Instagram. Super Smoothies was one of her best sponsors and it was a bit of a thrill to be able to influence people to buy them with just her sex appeal. She was posing in her home studio, wearing a casual but cute look of a low-cut green silk blouse and skinny jeans. "I am totes adorbs," she squealed as she looked through her photos to select which one to post. Fiona often had a professional in to shoot her, but sometimes her followers really responded to the more casual selfies she took herself.
The last week had been incredible for the former Jon, being Fiona was like a high she never wanted to end. Both of Fiona's jobs, modelling and working at her gym, were actually a lot of fun. The gym mostly ran itself, with her staff taking care of the lions share of the work. When she went in she split her time between being a personal trainer for the wealthiest women in Lakeview, and doing her own workout routine. After all, as the icon of Olympus Athletics, she needed to keep in tip top shape. Her modelling was a ton of fun too; there was a huge rush of affirmation to be besieged with positive comments after every post. In short, wherever she went she was the center of attention, and she loved it.
Jon was someone who lived in the background, but everyone knew when Fiona Apollo walked into the room. Whether it was the sight of her curling iron convincing jealous women to sign up for new memberships, or getting oggled by the cashier at her favorite boba tea place, people ALWAYS noticed her. And why shouldn't they, I'm incredible, Fiona reflected as she finally settled on a pic and made her post.
She didn't want to waste too much time today; she was getting lunch with Elaina followed by their first check-in meeting with the YCIE. She was really looking forward to seeing the lovely professor, who had quickly become a close friend of hers. She had kept up with the relationships of the old Fiona, of course, but there was an instant connection with Dr. Wembley. It was odd, because as Jon she'd never really given Leonard a second thought. Then again, she's not Leonard, she's Elaina Fiona reminded herself as she stepped out to her BMW. She'd decided to take her friend's advice and really embrace her life as Fiona, thinking of herself as who she was now, and doing the same for the other participants.
Not that she'd seen them all that much that week, aside from Elaina and Susan. Elaina and her had either gotten lunch, or had drinks almost every night that week, sometimes with friends and sometimes just the two of them. A tiny lie about meeting each other at a bar the previous week and everyone was happy to welcome the women into the others friend groups. After all, it wasn't that odd for two upwardly mobile young women who ran in similar circles, to become friends. Susan, who she was 95% sure used to be Kyla, was actually one of her clients now. Fiona had put the blonde through her paces during three sessions that week, but they'd also had smoothies after the one on Wednesday. According to their files the two women were casual friends, and they were keeping it to that so far.
She was a little sad not to have been able to touch base with the former Karyn during the week, but quickly shook it off as she motored towards Fresh Greens, the salad place she was meeting Elaina. Based on a few oblique comments from Susan about her husband, she was fairly sure Karyn had become Roger Gibson and there was little reason for their paths to cross. A woman's personal trainer going out of her way to spend time with her wealthy husband just screamed affair in a way Fiona didn't want to mess with. Besides, as Elaina would remind her, Karyn was Jon's friend, not Fiona's, and she needed to think Fiona now.
To that end she wasn't really looking forward with her meeting with the former occupant of her body at Lakeview Academy that day. She was having such a good time, she didn't want a reminder of its impermanence. Well, on the other hand, it was probably good to touch base and make sure there wasn't something big coming out that wasn't covered by her file or her phone's schedule. At the very least she could show Ms. Lafayette and Dr. Morgan how well she was adapting to the exchange.
She pulled her car into the parking place and thumbed the keyfob to extend the convertible's roof. Pushing her designer sunglasses up on her forehead, she grabbed her purse and headed in to meet Elaina.
