Joan snuck into her bedroom. Her husband was still asleep, so she had a good chance of snatching the stone without him noticing.
She crept across the room and to the nightstand. He always kept it in the top drawer. When she pulled the drawer out, it creaked. She stopped and carefully (and as quietly as possible) pulled it out further. There it was. The wishing stone. She picked it up, closed the drawer, and snuck back out of the room. She walked to the living room and sat down on the couch.
Joan loved her husband dearly, but she still remembered her life as Jon and missed Karyn. The stone was the only way she could contact Karyn and tell her what happened to her.
"I wish Karyn was here," she said. The stone glowed in her cupped hands and Karyn appeared in the room with her.
"Sarah! Why did you bring me here and what did you do to Jon?!" Karyn yelled out.
"Shhh. Karyn, keep it down," Joan whispered. But it was too late. The damage was done.
"What the hell's going on in here?" Joan's husband said, stumbling into the living room.
