Before I could turn to berate him for the theft, he said "I can do it. My hands do not tremble when holding a knife." I was still miffed, but it worked out. I said "I was going to do it on a first come first served basis anyway. You'll be assisting me with these installations." "You're still going to be doing them Brianne!? We just discussed this a few minutes ago!" Epsilon snapped. "You're going to make mistakes. Please reconsider" Beta agreed. All the clan PEA units seemed to be in agreement on this. I sighed deeply. The lack of faith in me was astonishing. "Hey! I'm the clan engineer. Not you guys. I will be doing the installations. That is that! I already have someone helping me to catch any mistakes. That is all we need." "I am confident in my ability to complete the installations on my own." the newbie said. I just turned and glared at him. He was unfazed. I guessed that it was time to simply pull rank on these fussy cyborgs. "You're not even in the fucking clan yet. Shut the fuck up, random!" He straightened up and went silent. I rolled my eyes. "That's more like it. Speak when spoken too for now."

He seemed to get it. All he did was nod. "While you're at it, I will make you the clan medical officer since you're so confident you can help us out. When any member needs medical care, you will be the one to provide it. Either we will send you out on the field, or we'll bring them here to you." I added. I did not want to have to do that to be honest. This was already reaching past my limits here. I was not going to admit it to the squad here though. I had my pride as both a human being and as a Player to uphold after all. He seemed very pleased with his new role in the clan. He began looking through the instructions. They were cyborgs. Photographic memory was not going to phase me. "I understand what is needed." he told me. I nodded and said "You'll be helping me do all of the surgeries for your clanmate. There will be PEA unit patients waiting for you in each of the labs. Good luck." I was going to leave to get myself ready when I turned back to him. I had to first give him some tools for installing upgrades. I had to give him a name. He was an officer now. I was miffed at what went down.

It was not like I was going to call him Iota or something. That would not here for someone of his station. However, I did not really appreciate his behavior. That was when it clicked for me. I looked at him and said "From now on, you're name is Rando. Welcome to the clan." He gave me a strained smile. He could tell this was not a very good name to be given. As he moved about, I could see that he was heavily bruised and scarred as well. He had an eyepatch over his left eye. Most likely a casualty of the training. He was balancing my pen on his lips as he was going over the instructions again. I told him to use the pods. "If my hands are not good enough, that one eye business isn't either. Fix it." I ordered. He nodded and went over to the pods. He put in the settings before going in. When he came out, I saw he had no more scars. His stomach was toned and flat. "I will be waiting in the clan building. You can tell me the results when you have finished all of them." I said. Rando just nodded as he looked over at Alpha and began to give him his final preparations for the major installation surgery.
