With the 5 chores around the base, that brought them to 10 completed missions. That was good. I only had to wait an in-game before I could assign then to more. All the fuss to get the PEA units to 15 missions was made moot by using this easy loophole. It was probably an oversight. It would be rare for a human to be in the position to give missions to PEP units. After they were done, I was able to research the tech to make their sexual upgrades. It was a major success for the clan. I made that the top priority. Once it was done, everyone in the PEA lab crowded around me. I had to push them all back a bit. "Back it up a bit. I actually need to breathe air here." I said with a grin on my face. They only took a step back. I just shrugged. At least they were not directly leaning over me. "Who are you going to install it in?" Alpha asked. I scoffed out loud. They looked concerned. "But... it's right there and functional." "This one stays with me. Just like all of the other upgrades I make for the clan. I have to replicate it so there will be enough for all of you." The PEA units in the clan were looking distraught.

I chuckled at them. I put it in the replicator. It took me a week in-game to make sure that I had enough for everyone as well as a handful of spares to go if needed. In their own ways, they coped with the wait. Some went out on a series of regular missions from the transmission hub. Others wandered around the base aimlessly. Alpha took to training until he nearly ran out of energy and then napping in the sun of the park. It was better than nothing, and it kept them out of my hair for that time period. When I finished, I gathered them all. It was time to install them in the PEA units. I told them to prepare themselves. I would be doing the installation procedures on them all in a row. It would be very time and energy consuming for me. However, I was the clan engineer of PBJ Clan. That was just one of the jobs I had that came with the role. I looked at Alpha. He was the first I recruited. It was only fair that he be the first to get the upgrade. I said "I hope you're ready. Today's the day." I was ready. I had to ask the librarians for guidance on how to do it. That took alot of ass kissing. I fucking hated them.

He shook his head. "Sorry, I don't think you should do it, Brianne." I just blinked. Did he change his mind? "What happened all of a sudden? We came all this way. What changed here?" I asked. His eyes widened a bit. "Sorry. I do want the upgrade. I meant that I think you specifically should not be doing the procedure, Brianne." I was not getting it. "Your human hands have tiny spasms and tremors that cause error. This is a precious piece of hardware." I just crossed my arms at that. "And your sensitive body parts." I sighed. He nodded his head tellingly. I could totally understand where he was coming from. Surgery was not something I expected to have to do here. I actually liked the squad I picked out. I had also invested a lot of time and energy into them If something went wrong now, that would be pretty bad. I held both my hands up in surrender. "I get it, Alpha. I'm an engineer, not a surgeon." I said. Since we currently in the PEA lab, one of the currently unaligned units snatched the instructions from me and moved away fast. It was from just behind me. That was not very nice, was it?
