Next morning Jennifer groaned slightly, slowly waking up. It took her few moments to register that she wasn't in her room and that she was snuggling to someone really warm. It took her a few more moments to open her eyes and see Karyn's smiling face. "Good morning, sleepyhead." Jennifer's girlfriend said gently and kissed her on the forehead. After that Jennifer's brain finally managed to reboot and with a rush she remembered everything what happened yesterday.
"Oh..." Jennifer groaned slightly, rubbing her eyes. She still felt emotionally exhausted from yesterday "Sorry I fell asleep on you, Karyn." Karyn smiled slightly "It is alright. Feeling any better?" Jennifer shrugged "I don't know. I think I'm... numb from yesterday. What time it is?" Karyn looked at her alarm clock "A bit past nine. Don't worry, I asked my parents if we could skip school today. They said okay." Jennifer sighed "Thanks, I don't feel like dealing with school drama. Think I could use your shower?" Karyn smiled "Feel free, I know you need one." Jennifer thanked Karyn and grabbed towel and some extra clothes, leaving for shower.
Karyn admired her girlfriend's figure for a few moments until she closed the door and then got more serious. Karyn took the wishing stone from her pocket, looking at it and thinking about what she and Ember talked yesterday. "I might not trust her fully, but she helped me and Jennifer to get together. She also seemed honestly furious about whole situation with Jen's father. I think I can trust her as far as wellbeing of Jennifer is concerned. And that is enough for me. Besides, she did have a point - Jennifer needs confidence boost now, not a slow build-up." she thought and decided to go through with Ember's suggestion. "I wish that Jennifer would be more confident." she said softly and stone glowed, accepting her wish. Karyn put it back into her pocket and decided to wait for her girlfriend.
In the shower
Jennifer was washing her body, feeling the exhaustion from yesterday melt away. "God, I needed this. Yesterday sucked. Well, except the part where I got a girlfriend. That was completely and absolutely amazing." she thought to herself with a smile on her face.
Which dropped slightly when she remembered what else happened. Her sister and her father hated her. That was a huge shock to the system. Jennifer still could barely wrap her mind around that thought. She never suspected her father was against sexual minorities so much... Sure, he showed a bit of disdain, but nowhere near amount of hate she saw in her new memories...
"Guess having freak for the daughter made him worse..." she thought darkly. Self-doubt and self-loathing assaulted her again and she just stood there in the shower, letting water drop on her.
Then, for just a second, a chill ran down her spine and her thoughts took a turn.
"So what?" she then thought "So what if he and Zoe think that I'm a freak? So what if they hate me? If they hate me, I will just not care for them anymore. They can as well be strangers to me now. Ember was right, why should I care? I have Karyn and her parents. I have Ember. I have my mom. Why should I care what anyone else thinks about me? Let them think whatever they want. I had enough. If they give me shit again they will have to deal with new Jennifer Madison. And this Jennifer will not take their shit anymore..." she thought with new resolution, deciding to grab her life into her own hands from now.
After 15 or so minutes of waiting, Karyn could see door open and Jennifer walking in, dressed in jeans and dark tank-top this time. She seemed to have more confidence in her step and had a happy smile on her face. Karyn smiled "I can see you are feeling better. Glad the shower helped." Jennifer giggled "Well, I do feel better. Decided to simply do not care about dad or Zoe. If they can't accept me for who I am, their problem. I have you, mom and your parents. That is enough for me." she said with smile.
"Aww, don't forget me, dear. You also have me." both Karyn and Jennifer heard the voice of Ember and they could see her standing near the window. Karyn raised her eyebrow "Another dream?" Ember giggled "Nah, just an illusion. I'm projecting my image and voice into your and Jennifer's minds. Neat, huh? Also you can think at me, if you want. Though this room is soundproofed now, so guess you can talk." Jennifered looked from Karyn to Ember and then back to Karyn again. "Wait, you know each other? When did that happen?" Karyn chuckled "Ember visited me while you were sleeping, concerned about you. We chatted and talked it out. Don't worry, I'm not angry at you about not telling me about her. I know that it must have been hard to figure out how to explain it." Jennifer smiled at her girlfriend "Did I ever tell you that you are the best?" Karyn giggled "Not sure, but feel free to repeat it." Jennifer came closer to Karyn, swaying her hips seductively "Maybe I will. Let me try whisper it into your ear this time..." Ember chose that moment to interrupt the girls before things went too far "Even though I enjoy seeing you two flirt, I think this is not the best time for this, no?" "Awwwww..." the two girls said in harmony and giggled, settling on bed.
Ember just chuckled in amusement "You can have your fun later. For now, let's discuss something me and Karyn talked about yesterday." she said seriously. Jennifer started to pay attention as Karyn and Ember told her their plan. She took a minute to think about it "It could work, I guess... Mom always wanted to have a sister and I wouldn't mind having an aunt. But how are we going to do this?" Ember grinned "That is the interesting part. We could wish for it, but that will leave too much room for stone to mess things up. Instead I could tap into stone's power directly and alter reality that way. That would require one of you letting me to possess you and since it technically could be called a harmful action, I can't possess Jennifer. So it would have to be you, Karyn. I know that both of you don't trust me completely, but I swear I will do everything in my power to make you happy. It is up to you two to decide."
Both girls looked at each other, using their telepathy to have a private conversation. After a minute they looked back at Ember and Karyn smiled "We decided to trust you. You helped us to get together, you even gave Jennifer a nice idea how to help with my little problem. You even made us know that Sarah isn't a total bitch. After all this, we might as well extend our trust to you." Jennifer nodded in agreement "If not for you, who knows if I and Karyn would have become a couple. I have you to thank for getting me and Karyn together. She is love of my life and I can't put into words how much I appreciate her." Ember smiled at both girls "Thank you. I will not disappoint you." she promised.
Karyn smiled a bit and took wishing rock from her pocket. "So, what do I need to do?" she asked Ember. "Just relax. I will take care of the rest. After this I probably won't be able to contact you right away, but you should get changed memories right away. If it works like I intend, you should vaguely remember me as Linda's younger rich and successful sister that sometimes visited and spoiled you two. I probably will be getting some big property here in town and will be coming by either by end of today or tomorrow." both girls nodded in understanding and Ember put her hand on Karyn's head, seemingly being absorbed into her body.
Karyn closed her eyes and took stone into her palms. The stone soon started to glow stronger and stronger until it shined like miniature sun, forcing Jennifer to look away. Then suddenly the glow vanished and Karyn opened her eyes, still holding stone. "Did it work?" she asked. Jennifer nodded "Think so... Like Ember said I have vague memory of my aunt now... Can't remember how she looks, though..." Karyn nodded "Me too... Well, we will see soon enough, right? You take this for now." she gave Jennifer the stone and Jennifer put it into her pocket. The two girls then decided to go downstairs and get some breakfast.
