Several hours later Karyn was on her bed next to Jennifer, gently stroking her hair and watching her sleep. It was around 7pm now and she was content to let Jennifer sleep through the dinner and the night. She needed rest. Today was emotional rollercoaster for both of them, but Jennifer took it hardest because of whole thing with her father. Karyn shook her head slightly. She thought about that enough for one day. She will figure something out later.
Karyn closed her eyes for a moment and then she opened them again Jennifer was nowhere to be seen. In fact her whole room was gone and she was sitting on a black couch in white nothingness, just like in Matrix movie she saw once. She felt panic rising until she heard an alluring voice "Don't worry, this is just a dream. Jennifer is safe back in real world. Sorry for dropping this on you suddenly, but after reviewing Jennifer's latest memories I decided that we should talk together." Karyn then looked in front of her, seeing what looked like her twin with darker shade of hair and black latex outfit. Her twin smiled to her "Sorry for my looks. I didn't had time to design a body for myself yet, so using what I showed Jon in his dream last night."
Karyn was feeling slightly on edge. She could tell that it wasn't simple dream. She tried to use her telepathy to read her twin, but came up empty. Seemed she could block it. Well, if that didn't work, it only left her with one option: "Who are you?" she asked.
Her twin grinned "You can call me Ember. That is how Jon.. sorry, Jennifer, called me. I will admit I'm fond of the name. It suits me well." Karyn still looked at her with distrust "Sorry, this must be terribly confusing to you. Let me show you how Jon and I met." she said and Karyn could feel rush of memories that weren't her own. After absorbing the memories Karyn looked back at Ember "So you were the one who told Jon I'm a lesbian?" Ember nodded "Yes. I also am the one who suggested for him to become a girl." Karyn raised her eyebrow at that "Why?"
Ember shrugged and crossed her legs "Because he didn't want to lose you. He loved you even then and he was willing to sacrifice his manhood for you. Though due to my blunder of not checking his parents minds he got hurt... I probably would have suggested some different alternative if I knew what would happen... Though end result probably would have remained the same, as Adam would still hate sexual minorities..." she sighed.
Karyn nodded in agreement "Why did you want to meet me?" Ember smiled "Because you care for Jennifer's future. I also care for her. She was the one that gave me a purpose. Sure, a lot of my behaviour is influenced by that wish, but I can honestly say that I am better for it. I really care for Jennifer, she is like my... daughter, I guess? Niece? Something like that." Karyn didn't look convinced "Look, I know that you feel that you shouldn't trust me, but I want to help. Both you and Jennifer. I would never intentionally hurt Jennifer, please believe me." Ember looked at Karyn's eyes.
For some reason Karyn believed her twin. It helped that Jennifer trusted her. She was also the one who practically made it so they would end up together. For that Karyn was thankful to Ember. "Okay, I will trust you. But if you ever hurt Jennifer, I will somehow make you vanish for good." she threatened. Ember smiled "I have no doubt you will." she offered her hand for a handshake "Truce?" Karyn looked at hand and shook it "Truce." after that both of them leaned back on their seats.
"Glad we got that out of the way. Now let's discuss how we could help Jennifer to deal with her family. Both her father and mother don't have any siblings, right?" Karyn nodded "Yes. Why do you ask?" Ember smirked "Well, what if Jennifer's mother had a younger sister who she could call for advice to deal with cruel husband?" Karyn raised an eyebrow "I don't see how it... wait. You want to become Mrs. Madison's sister?" Ember nodded "I already said that I see Jen as a niece, no? Why not make it official? As Jen's aunt I could help Linda push through divorce, could maybe move in some big house in town, separate Adam from Jen and her siblings and maybe get Zoe professional help. Something is really wrong with that girl."
Karyn thought about it for a moment. "It could work, I guess. Jen said that she didn't want to change her family as she would feel it would be fake. Adding extra member she knows of could work. We will have to tell Jen about this, though. If she is alright with it we will go through."
Ember nodded "Of course. I would never exclude Jennifer from such decision. We will tell her in the morning, agreed?"
Karyn nodded "Agreed." Ember smiled "There is one more thing that bothers me and I want your input on the matter." Karyn motioned for Ember to continue. "I'm concerned with Jennifer's lack of confidence. I hopped that become beautiful girl would help boost that, but the whole fiasco with her father made it all-time low. I was thinking that maybe you should wish for Jennifer to be more confident in herself?"
Karyn thought about it "I agree that it is worrying, but to wish for it... I am not sure." Ember shrugged "Believe me, it is not my first choice either, but building confidence takes time and who knows what drastic things could Jennifer's dad do when this situation escalates?" Karyn bit her lip "I guess you are right... I could wish for confidence boost. It wouldn't hurt her anyways. As long as I leave it vague enough I could change it later." Ember smiled "Glad you agree. Well, I will leave you to sleep. I will contact both you and Jennifer in the morning." Ember said and vanished.
Soon after the whole dream twisted into another dream where Karyn and Jennifer were making love to each other.
Next morning Jennifer and Karyn will find themselves awakening in each other's embrace and they couldn't be happier.
Meanwhile.
Athena was examining the chalk circle and symbols she drew in the attic. "There must be no mistakes, else mistress will be unhappy." she thought to herself and examined her work again and again, adding symbols where they were missing, drawing needed lines and muttering under her breath. After finally re-checking her work several times Athena said magical words her mistress taught her and the chalk burned in fire, leaving a complex black magical design on the floor.
Preparations were complete.
