Jon looked up as Karyn came out of his closet. "I don't really feel anything different," he said.
"Nothing's changed yet, Jon," Karyn said. "I have to activate the wish first."
"So, what's stopping you?"
"Jon, are you sure you want me to do this to you?"
"Karyn," Jon sighed, "if you put a time limit on it then it's harmless. I'm just curious to see what kind of person I'd be if something about me were different"
Well, you're about to become really different, Karyn thought. "Kingfish."
Jon suddenly gasped for a breath. He felt his vision dim for a second. When it returned she felt strange, like she was somehow bigger. She looked around for a second and realized she was still in Jon's room. Then she looked over and saw herself looking back at her.
"So, are you going to activate the wish or what, Karyn?" she said then immediately clasped her hand to her mouth. She had meant to ask if the person in the body next to her was Jon but instead she had asked something that Jon would ask given his obsession with having his life altered.
Something about the wish I made for Jon has caused us to swap bodies, she deduced, but has me acting like Jon would. So that must be Jon in my body now. I wonder if he has to act like I would?
"Jon, the wish is active" the person who looked like Karyn said.
