Everything was ready for when the family filed into the dining room to eat.

Lucy was holding Sarah's hand. The two seemed to be both in a good mood as they sat down.

Biff joined them a few seconds later. When Mollie entered the room, he called out to her, feeling his heart thumping again. "Why don't you sit with me?"

She nodded and slipped into the chair.

Elsewhere, Jon sat down, having brought out all the food, and watched his family eat. Zoe and Simon were joking about something and Mikey seemed to be quietly sulking as he ate. He tried to talk to Karyn, who seemed happy to get the attention. She seemed oddly perky as she told him more about his day.

After a few minutes, Laura cleared her throat. "We finished painting downstairs today. We just need to put the furniture back into place and clean up, and we'll have a new family room."

"Isn't that what the living room is for?" Karyn said.

"Once we hook up the new TV down there...I'm thinking of taking the TV out of the living room."

"What?" Zoe asked. "Why?"

"Because I don't want every room in the house to be one where you sit around and watch TV," Laura said. "And we'd like to expand the kitchen a little at some point. Besides, with the speakers and everything, it's like a home theater down there...half the time everyone is watching on their devices anyway..."
