Dewdrop was so taken aback as Cornelius picked her up and with little fanfare, dropped her inside the genie bottle. "Ahh!" The little fairy screamed, her voice getting dimmer and dimmer. "Corneliusssss!.... "
With a little grin Cornelius relaxed his wings, and dropped inside the bottle too.
Dewdrop was thrown about in some kind of slide. She assumed it had to be the neck of the bottle, but it was so long! For over a minute it went, changing in various colours of blue, green and yellow. she could smell smoke... and glittering light. surly this was not a lit lamp? She held onto her wand tightly. It was fortunate she was wearing these stockings after all...
She seemed to be approaching the end of the tunnel, into what she assumed must be the heart of the lamp. She was flow into the air, and onto some kind of... bed? "Wha... how..." she was greatful for the soft landing. Wait was someone sleeping on it?!
Cornelius then appeared from the opening of the lamp. "Hello, anyone in here?"
Dewdrop gasped a bit as something wrestled from within the bed.
The woman looked to be in her late twenties, and had blond hair. She groaned a little. "Oh, who's there... well what a cute thing to wake up to," she giggled seeing dewdrop.
Dewdrop jumped off the bed. "W-Where am- Where are we?" The inside of the lamp was a lot larger then the outside... how was this possible? Was that a genie?
The 'genie' looked amused at having visitors. "So, just what are you fairies doing inside my home?" The woman was... achingly beautiful with lovely hair, and an impressive bust that defied logic. She looked magical... stunning. As if crafted by the ages to be what any man might desire. It was enough for Dew to stare at her with a faint blush.
Cornelius cleared his throat, equally taken aback by the genies beauty. Still this was official business. "Apologies Genie of the Lamp, my love and I are simply on an errand of the Queen of the Fairies. Someone's been doing some odd things."
" she's relly a genie? We're inside her lamp?" Dewdrop asked.
The woman chuckled. "A little on the slow side, isn't she." She towered over Dewdrop... but she seemed to take the young fairy with some amusement. "Wingless too... poor thing. Though you do have my sympathy, I remember how long it took for me to earn my freedom. All magical beings have their... trials."
"So... you are not a prisoner here?" Dew asked curious about how that might work.
"Well, only to the Djinn Lord, I suppose that is similar to your Queen... mind you I barely see him. I try not to 'mess up' when I grant a wish and incur his wrath. He can be quite.. punishing."
"Then you have to grant wishes?" Dew glanced at Cornelius. Could the genie maybe... grant his wish to be human? If.. if she wanted to?
The woman gave a little smirk. "For humans... and when I feel like it... yes. Master Biff does have some interesting wishes. He wished for that remote you see. I do love humans who have this... oh what do you call it... technological wishes. It makes so many more things possible. In the past I was asked for candles that never burn out... but in this world, and in this time? People have concepts that allow them to wish for some of the craziest things imaginable. I can grant them all..."
Cornelius shook his head. "I'm afraid our Queen has taken some offence to the wish of the remote control," explained Cornelius matter of factly. "According to the treaty between the Fairydom and the Djiniverse-"
"Neither of which applies on this plane Prince," grinned the Woman. "Oh where are my manners. My name is... Oracle. Welcome to my home away from home, and the first step to the Djiniverse. Do you seek to become genies yourselves?"
Dewdrop gasped. "N-No! I really don't want to do that."
Oracle sighed. "Oh, everyone says that. I give you five hundred years before you enjoy it. A thousand and you might even earn your freedom too." she giggled.
Cornelius shook her head. "Oracle, this Master Biff of yours is acting quite reckless. How many wishes does he have?
"Two more, Fairy Prince," Oracle nodded as she put on a bathrobe. "After that, I get to go back to the Djinverse, and maybe I'll throw this old lamp somewhere on Earth to recruit a new genie. I'll have to teach them of course the ways of their new life, much as you seem to be doing with this one."
Cornelius blinked. "...such a person would become your daughter if memory serves?" the fairy prince rubbed his chin a bit, his wings fluttering.
Oracle nodded. "Of course. It is my lamp after all, my blood... my soul... thus they have to be compatible. Not just everyone has the kind of soul needed to be a Genie of the Stars," she winked.
Dew was looking lost at the conversation. "A... a genie of the stars? Look- I'm really lost here. What is going on? What the heck is a genie of the stars, and what is going on with Biff!" She was about to have a meltdown again. She was stuck in a lamp talking to a genie!
Oracle sighed. "A star-genie gains her power from Starlight. Other genies tend to use the four elements.. Fire, Wind, Earth or Water... but I'm one of the stranger elements. Starlight.. my counterpart, would be the Dark Genies. They get their power from the void energy of black holes. They don't technically grant wishes though.. well, sort of."
"Immortal, and very powerful," Said Cornelius with some awe. Star genies are said to have access to vast power... so long as there is light. They are distinct from fire genies however..."
Oracle nodded. "Indeed Prince. I'm glad one of you has an education at least... anyway, don't worry. The remote is temporary. I'm just waiting to see what Biff wishes for next. I like to twist my third wish, they always get what they want in the first. He's used that remote to bring a few things from the imagination box to the real world."
"The Television," said Dew.
"Yes. An... Impressive device. Anyway, he's brought quite a few things to the real world, and I think he plans to test it in high school. He didn't wish for magical batteries though, so it should run out of power after a few more uses."
Dew sighed. Just what was she supposed to do now...
