"I have no idea yet" Jon admitted.
Karyn sighed and told Jon, "Well, whatever you do, think it over very carefully. Don't make any hasty wishes. You sent the stone to yourself at an older age for a reason, to make smarter wishes than you would have as a high school kid. I mean, I had the stone for like two minutes and I've had to live with over sized boobs and blonde hair that looks unnatural on me for all these years as a result. What seemed like a good idea at the time in reality has just been a decade of backaches and constantly damaging my hair dying it the color it had been in the first place. So..I guess if I could give you any advice from my personal experience, it's be careful what you wish for, because you have to live with it."
Jon took a deep breath and then said with an all to serious tone, "Yeah, I know. With great power...comes great responsibility."
Karyn groaned a bit and snarkily retorted, "Ok, spidey. In all seriousness though be careful. Of course, if you wanted to wish that my house had new siding and my car didn't leak anti-freeze, those wishes would probably be just fine!"
"Oh ha ha Karyn."
Jon chatted with Karyn for another 15 minutes or so catching up with each other. Karyn seemed rather happy with her typical suburban life. She had a nice husband named Todd and two wonderful young kids named Emily and Jeremy. She had a decent job as a regional manager for a clothing retailer and her husband was a project foreman for the state highway department. For Jon it really brought into contrast his own life which hadn't been bad, but was still pretty much stalled at the moment. He spent the rest of the evening wondering what to wish for, but couldn't really think of anything that didn't have a risk of backfiring.
The next day as he worked at the coffee shop it was actually a comment from a customer that gave him his first great idea for a wish.
