"Oh wow, this is just too...surreal" Jon said aloud to himself. Seeing the wishing stone suddenly made all the old memories of his high school days come rushing back to him. He specifically remembered his friend Karyn flipping out one day and INSISTING the blonde hair she'd had since birth and the ample boobs she had had since, well, she had boobs were the result of some wish rock. As it turned out, she had been right.
Jon's thoughts now drifted back to his high school friend/crush, Karyn. After they had drifted apart during college he lost contact with her only to see her life play out as a series of Facebook posts. Every once in a while his lost friend Karyn would show up on his news feed as she hooked up with some guy, when she liked some lol cat picture, as she had gotten married, as she found new casserole recipes, and as she had two kids. Jon had Karyn as a "friend" on Facebook all these years, and had added her number to his cell even though he had never worked up the courage to actually contact her. He figured now was a good time though to reconnect, if only to make her jealous he had unlimited power. After all, trying to make others jealous is what Facebook friends are for, right?
After five rings, Jon was about to hang up when there was finally a click and the sound of Karyn's voice saying "hello?".
Jon was taken aback a bit at hearing this voice from the past. After an awkward couple seconds of silence he blurted out, "Karyn? Uh, Hi. It's me, Jon."
"Oh..Hi Jon. Gosh I haven't heard from you in years. Umm....What's up?"
"Well, not sure how to say this without sounding weird but, remember that wishing stone you claimed I had as a kid? It's back."
There was a long pause before Karyn finally said in a loud whisper, "No...FUCKING...WAY!!! Are you SERIOUS?!?"
"Yes!"
There was another pause and Karyn said in a serious tone, "Oh thank god you wished the stone out of your horny teenage hands, Jon. It was probably the smartest thing you ever did. You probably would have ended up wishing yourself to be a girl or maybe even done something crazy like....make the sun change color or something."
"I know, right?" Jon said as he responded with an eye roll to the backhanded compliment.
Karyn then asked him, "So...what ARE you going to do?"
