*I'll contrast with another writer who has surprised me: sonnyjimjr's earlier episodes would probably have been rated a 6 if I'd rated them. While the technical "writing" aspects were iffy, his branches were always about telling a story, even if they stumbled during that process. However, he's improved greatly, and at this point I'd give most of his branches solid 8's, sometimes even 9's.

The Guest and Anonymous 51 both tend to write stubs a lot, which are sometimes necessary but can't really be rated. When they do write more in-depth, they both tend to be strong 9's, and sometimes 10's.*

I'll agree on sonnyjimjr3. We've discussed things occasionally privately...you've seen me occasionally writing an alternate version of one of those branches because I just had a different idea about it, or there was one thing that prevented me from going in the direction I was envisioning. But the amount of times I've ended up doing that more recently has been fewer.

The stub comment is probably accurate. In a branch style site like this, you try to pause at a 'decision point'. A lot of the other sites Anonymous51 has noted writing on are the ones where you suggest the next option/options, as opposed to the unlimited additions(which I sometimes prefer).

Where do you stop a story? To be honest, when I add a short one, it is because I had this bigger idea that never panned out in my mind. Also the reason you'll see me post for a long while, and then take a break where I post more sporadically.

The only thing that really disappoints me about a rating is that it is the only way to know if someone read something. Sometimes, knowing that someone read it...that encourages me to continue when I'm stuck. I'm more of a perfectionist than I should be for a hobby.

I think we all need to post something in the forum when a branch or a series of branches are something we like...I love good writing, as you do, even if the subject isn't my cup of tea.
