Karyn walked inside Roger McMillan's office and immediately laid eyes on Roger sitting on his desk. In his right hand was the familiar wishing rock that she and Jon once had in their possession not too long ago.
"Hello there Karyn," Roger said. "Would you sit down please so we can get this started?"
"Roger I know that's the stone." Karyn said with a scowl on her face. "How do I know that you haven't enchanted my chair or any other object in this room?"
"I can assure you I do not want to transform or enchant you in any way Karyn. I only seek a conversation for our own mutual benefit, and I can't do that without you in your top mental condition."
A few moments of silence followed until Karyn finally sat down in the chair across from Roger.
"So Karyn, has Jon told you about why I took the stone from him?"
"He told me you wanted to ruin his life through any means necessary, which is looking more true by the moment with all those meetings you keep asking people to join."
"I should tell you that Jon only told you half of the story, but I doubt you would believe anything that came out of my mouth correct?"
Karyn nodded without another word. It became clear to Roger that Jon had managed to talk to Karyn before he called her in as expected.
"How about this Karyn." Roger said. "Since you do not believe in my word, how about I let you view the whole truth through our mystical friend Mr. Rock here. I'll let you decide the wording of the wish and that way you'll truly understand why I'm doing this."
"That sounds fair," Karyn said. "But how do I know you'll even do that and not just wish me into becoming some cheerleader or something worse. You have to make a wish stating that next wish can only be granted if it is worded exactly the way I phrased it."
"Deal. I wish the next wish on this rock would only be granted if it is worded the way Karyn Black wants."
The stone began to glow green as it appeared to be waiting for the next wish before it could return to its natural state
"Okay then Karyn, it's your move."
"All right, tell the rock that I wish I could learn why you really want to antagonize Jon with the stone."
"Okay then, I wish that Karyn Black would learn why I really want to antagonize Jon with the stone."
Karyn nods in approval as the green aura around the stone surrounds Karyn's head. In what seems like a few seconds, Karyn was able to see glimpses into a reality that no longer existed, as she saw images of Roger's original family before Jon changed the roles. What was even more striking, was the knowledge of Jon going from door to door changing people against their will into members of his mother's book club. People she felt like she knew at one point, but could not recognize them anymore. All because of Jon's careless wishing. The aura fades as Karyn focusses back on reality.
"Wow." Karyn said as she put her hands on her forehead. "I can't believe Jon would do something so low. I mean he completely fucked up your family Roger. Your sister is now your own mother. That's... god that's sick."
"Do you see why I'm angry Karyn? Do you understand why I'm doing this?"
"Yeah I get it now. Seriously you think you know a friend, and then they pull this garbage. I bet he made up that bs about you transforming a bunch of our "friends". I mean Jon and I have been friends for years. We never had anyone else really other than a few acquaintances here and there."
"Correct Karyn. You're absolutely correct. Jon was just using you in this moment in the hopes that you would get the stone and have him likely finish the job by erasing me from existence or turning me into something perverted."
"Well if this is all you're going to show me, then I need to have a talk with my so called friend after school's out. Are we done?"
"Yes Karyn we are very much done."
As Karyn left the office, Roger smiled as he petted the magical rock on his desk. In less than an hour, Jon will find himself completely alone and defenseless agains the might of the magical stone. The end of Jon is coming, and Roger could barely contain his excitement.
