"Why don't you sit down with me?" Lucy said. "I want to show you the state of our business. I've been looking through everything."
Sarah was surprised at her mother's new attitude. Her father had handled most of the business affairs. But, this fight with her father seemed to have energized her somehow. And she was touched that Lucy wanted her to be a part of it. She sat next to her, and the two looked through the various holdings and initiatives.
The main holding company for the business was McMillan Holdings, which held all the assets and was owned by Lucy and Robert. Sarah hadn't known there was such a thing or even thought about the fact that on the books, her mother was an equal partner to her father. Robert had also created a shell company called McMillan Investments, which bought or invested in businesses. It was the more speculative part. Then there was the actual business that had made them enough to buy this nice house and afford a maid.
"He's drawing money away from the business," Lucy said, as Sarah looked at what her mother was showing her. "...into Investments. Which is much riskier. And he isn't putting much money into growing the business."
"But...that isn't good, is it?" Sarah said. "Look at what he's investing in...It looks like a lot of random stuff..."
"To me too.." Lucy said. "I'm glad we're on the same page here...No matter what happens between him and I...I don't think I'll be letting him make any important decisions without us."
Sarah smiled, glad the two of them were growing closer.
Meanwhile, Biff was feeling this odd fluttering in his chest as he talked to Mollie. As they talked, he started wondering what it would be like if they were together. Mollie wrapping her arms around him, making him feel all...
"Biff," Mollie said, touching his arm. He blinked. "You trailed off there suddenly.."
"Sorry," he blushed. "I just...it has been a hard day."
"Ou-Yeah..." Mollie corrected herself. "But...we can just relax now until dinner. Dinner..." she paused. "I forgot to start dinner," she suddenly realized. Where had the day gone?
"Well, you said it has been a hard day," Biff said. "There's still time."
Mollie looked at him, thinking how sexy he was. "I will go get started." She hurried off, leaving Biff alone with his sudden fantasies of a new romance.
When she arrived in the kitchen, she discovered Robert was already there, and had gotten out items to prepare.
