He knew there would be no point in mentioning what he'd seen to Karen, as far as she was concerned Miss Park was just another student in their year, and as such so it wasn't that odd for Zoe to be going out with her.
They got in line at one of the kiosks and John quietly steamed to himself. His attention was drawn to the front of one of the other queues where a smartly dressed businessman and woman were arguing with the staff about there drinks order, he couldn't quite make out what they were saying but it was very heated. He'd almost tuned it out when he saw the girl behind the counter flinch away from the man. Disgust for any man who'd bully a girl like that flared in his heart and a shimmer passed over his eyes.
When his eyes cleared he saw the man was throwing a tantrum like a little girl, which was just how he was dressed, while the woman was desperately tying to calm him down. He glanced about trying to find the other swappee and spotted a mother and her daughter on an escalator the girl looking odd in a suit and tie.
A dull ache started behind his eyes. "I feel real sorry for her some kids just love to play up when there out in public." Karen said.
John grunted a reply and massaged his temples.
