Even being so ideologically charged, this is definitely not the hill to die on.

If people will excuse me for being presumptuous, I think sites like this are more than just fet sites. It's escapism. It's articulating an inner fantasy. (Which I've found to lead to the understanding and resolution of internal conflict.) It's getting the crazy out. It's exposing a weakness, or secret desire. A lot of times it's just having fun.

Point is, even if people get political, that's not what it's really about. This is where people come to rest, and enjoy collaborating with others who are equally comfortable in sharing the less public parts of their hearts and minds.

Getting vitriolic here will only hurt people, yourself included. I would insist that doing the recycling, or planting a garden does the world more good than stoking the coals in the private places of the internet.

I'm sorry you've been getting thumbs down. But I would encourage that if you have a political perspective you'd like to spread, it's better to be proactive than it is to be reactive. Write your own story. Do some research and (v)blog. Write essays on your thoughts. Essay's aren't just for school. Email your state representative. Attend City Halls. Do some research on tribalism, and WHY good people can be divided on these issues.

I sincerely hope, I'm not just antagonizing this topic for everyone, but I'm the type that really longs for conflict resolution within private communities.
