Thea Woods pulled into Karyn's driveway and shot Karyn a text to let her know she was waiting for her. She was glad Karyn was hanging out, as she'd been worried when Karyn had suddenly turned cold earlier. It was almost like she didn't know Thea at all.
Thea shook that idea off though. She remembered first meeting Karyn at summer camp between the seventh and eight grades. They were bunkmates and hit it off immediately. She fondly recalled the long summer days spent doing camp activities, staying up at night talking to each other, sneaking into each other's bunk to cuddle, and practicing making out.
It wasn't until high school that they really got serious with their relationship, when they were finally both going to the same school (Thea went to a different middle school) and began to realize that their makeout sessions in camp weren't just practice for future boyfriends. Thea remembered sneaking off between classes to make out under the bleachers, or hanging out in each others' rooms after school.
She stopped musing on the past when she heard the Blacks' front door open. She looked over and her jaw nearly dropped. Karyn stepped out of the house wearing a tight green t-shirt with her favorite pair of skinny jeans and four-inch heels with corkwood heels and a slight platform. The effect they had on her legs was really flattering. She didn't even know Karyn owned a pair of heels. She looked amazing.
She kept her eyes on Karyn as the girl ran around the front of her Prius. Karyn was smiling as she got into the car. "You can close your mouth now," she said, giggling.
Thea was floored. "You look hot! ...Why are you dressing up for shitty movie night though?"
"Let's just say that I wanted to apologize for earlier, and this seemed like a good way to do that." She smiled at Thea and buckled her seat belt. "Now don't just sit there staring at me, let's get going!"
Karyn leaned over and kissed Thea on the cheek, still reveling in the part she was playing. "This is going to be so much fun," she thought to herself as Thea put the car in reverse.
