Karyn froze for what seemed like the tenth time in the last ten minutes, unable to process what was going on. She pulled away from Thea, pushing her to arm's length.
Thea looked confused again, and a little hurt. "What's wrong?" she said, giving Karyn a concerned look.
"I... have to go. Home. I have to go home." she stammered, backing away from the confused girl.
"But we were going to hang out?"
Karyn had started to turn around, and was still moving away from Thea. "Um, I have to go. Something came up."
Unable to face the girl, Karyn took off for home. This was by far the strangest thing that had ever happened to her. Why did Thea think they were dating? What was that stuff she had said about spending the night? What the hell was going on?
