Mikey ended up succeeding in touching his mother with the wand, but of course, nothing happened, just like when Zoe tried to return Jon to normal earlier and failed. If the wand touched someone who had already been given a new personality, then that person couldn't be affected by the wand again, apparently.
Zoe came over and grabbed the wand from Mikey. "It won't work on her."
"How do you know?" Mikey asked her.
"Because I already tried it on Jon, that's why."
"Jon? Why would you try it on him?"
Zoe sighed. "Because you have his personality and he has yours."
Mikey just stared at her. Seriously? But then it kind of made sense, right? After all, Mikey acted way more mature than he actually was, and Jon vice versa. But ... all his memories told him that things were always this way. This was a very strange situation he was in.
"Would someone like to tell me what's going on here?" the barista (Wendy) asked.
