"Hey, Jon-boy," Zoe said, acting chummy, the way Karyn usually did. "Are listening to me?"
"Huh?" Jon asked, breaking out of his thoughts.
"I said maybe I should try out the wand," Zoe said.
"I think it's too dangerous," Jon said, honestly.
Zoe made a noise. "You've been playing with it. I'm at least as responsible as you," she said.
Jon thought about it. Things weren't so good right now...could letting Zoe try the wand make it worse?
Zoe grabbed it out of his hand.
