As it turned out, Zoe's condition was not unique. Athena DeVries was at home this very moment, completely drained of all her personality, as was Zoe's other friend Zelda Whitefield. Their personalities and lifestyle choices now belonged to their mothers.
And along with their personalities and lifestyles, memories of life outside the core of their existence were now gone. They still remembered their family and going to school (no matter who they were friends with, they'd still remember those things), but everything else was gone. The three former friends forgot about each other and what it was like to be Goth. They were almost like blank slates.
