By the time Biff arrived back at the McMillan house with Sarah, he'd loosened his belt several times, much to his annoyance. "Does my butt look bigger to you?" He asked Sarah.
Sarah stopped, and examined it. "Your pants are just too tight," she said. "I don't think a day of not practicing is going to make you put on weight. Maybe you should go home and get some extra clothes."
He paused. Somehow, the idea of going home seemed wrong somehow...right now, he felt safer at the McMillan house. "My parents have their own problems," he said.
"Don't worry, sweetie," Sarah said, in a comforting manner. "You can stay here for as long as you need." They headed upstairs from the entryway. "Why don't you change into something more comfortable?" Sarah didn't have much of a problem herself as she and Lucy weren't that far off in terms of size.
"Fine, I'll be right back," he said.
"I'm going to go check on everyone," Sarah replied.
He headed into the bedroom, took off his shoes and wiggled out of the jeans, then discovered his drawer in her bedroom was completely empty of bottom pieces. All the underwear, socks, and jeans were gone. Laid out on the bed was one of Sarah's skirts, and below it a pair of her sandals. He stood there and stared at it, trying to decide what to do.
Sarah found her mother in the home office, looking through screens of information. Lucy smiled. "How was your day?"
"They dragged us into this session, it was like group therapy...it was horrible. I mean...everyone in the same situation as us...Steve Farber was so embarrassed, he barely talked...I mean, he thinks he's gods gift to women, and now...I wonder who got his gift. And Abby..you remember her..Tiff's friend? She was more concerned with how this would make her less popular." Sarah paused. "Do you think someone did this on purpose?"
Lucy shrugged. "It is impossible to tell. Maybe those Doctors will figure out something. I hope so. But in the mean time... we can let other people worry about themselves...we have to worry about our family. Speaking of which, Robert and I are having a bit of a tiff," she said, not wanting to tell Sarah the whole story. "So, I decided that, since he is waking up in Mollie's room, he can just stay there. I told her she could take the guest room for now."
"Why not the other way around?" Sarah asked.
"I thought he should be closer to his clothes," she said. "It is the strangest thing...suddenly, all of his pants fit me...like the underwear yesterday."
"Do you think it is spreading?"
"It's just clothing," Lucy said. "You haven't noticed anything else, have you?"
"No, not really," Sarah said.
