Zoe scowled. "I mean, he's acting really different," she told Athena. "And my mom's oblivious to it. She told me if I'm worried, I should go down to the Career Center. They have a program for family members."
Zoe wasn't usually worried about her brother. But, she wasn't sure what was worse. Old Jon, or new Jon. "And my mom says that when I'm old enough, she wants me to consider going to the Career Center"
"I'd rather decide what I want to be than some program doing it," Athena said. "You'd better talk your mom out of it." She paused, fingering her pendant. It was warm to the touch. She felt almost as if it had something to do with this conversation, but that couldn't be possible. There was nothing magical about the Career Center, was there?
Meanwhile, Mikey was alone in his room. He didn't understand what was going on with his big brother. But his mother had promised to take him down to the Career Center. They had some sort of cartoon that explained it to kids his age.
