He reviewed the rest of the day with them. There were some mandatory medical exams, then the mentor introduction, then a first day with the mentor. They'd arrange schedules, and the next day, both students would return to school. Their class schedules would be adjusted to allow them to meet the mentor on their schedule.
"If you'd open your envelopes please," he said. "Let's move on."
Jon and Sarah ripped open the envelopes and unfolded the sheets of paper inside.
Jon didn't get a chance to read his. Sarah read hers and immediately began to complain, insisting it was unfair and should be changed. She raised such a fuss that a security guard escorted her out of the room, while the Doctor explained to her that her parents had signed a waiver, and she couldn't leave the program or complain about the randomly assigned career.
It made Jon a bit nervous to look at the piece of paper before him. He turned it over to read what it said.
