Karyn was stunned. "So the thing last night with the plane was--"
"Was me!" Jon said, grinning.
"Wow, I never figured you for the superhero type."
"I know, but it's pretty cool, right?"
"Yeah," she said skeptically. Then she thought about it some more and smiled. "Yeah, that is really cool! But why this? I mean, why Supergirl and not Superman?"
Jon rubbed the back of his head awkwardly. "I guess my wish wasn't specific enough."
He briefly considered whether or not he should tell Karyn that they had offered him a choice of whether or not to look like a girl. He decided against it, since he thought it would be too awkward to tell Karyn about it. "Apparently the superpowers they gave me required certain physical changes. But, honestly, it's not that bad. I am still technically a girl."
"Um, yeah, that much is pretty obvious."
"Ugh, what I meant to say was the opposite of that. Sorry. They programmed in a bunch of feminine behaviors so that I wouldn't blow my cover."
