Jon decided he couldn't keep this secret from Karyn! She was his best friend, after all, and now his sister! Besides, she knew about the stone, so she would understand. Jon went over to the door and peeked down the stairs. Seeing no sign of the doctor, he closed the door and turned to Karyn.
"Okay, here's the deal: I'm actually Linda Lee."
"Yeah, that's what they said." Karyn said sceptically.
Crap. It must be another of those programmed behaviors. Jon tried again, this time concentrating hard on saying the correct words.
"My name isn't actually Linda Lee Danvers. It's Linda Lee Danvers. Really? Why can't I say Linda?"
Karyn was starting to look a bit scared. "Umm... are you okay?" She obviously thought her new roommate was crazy.
Jon decided to try a different approach. "I know how you got your long hair and big boobs!"
"Jon?!"
"Shhhh!" Jon said, glancing at the door. "I'm not supposed to tell anyone. You have to keep this secret, okay?"
"Sure. But Jon, what happened? Did you wish yourself to be a girl?"
"Not exactly..."
"Oh, I bet I know what happened: you wished that you could sleep in the same room as me, and the stone decided to make you into my new adoptive sister, right?"
"What? No! Why would I do that?"
"Okay, then why are you here, looking like that?"
"Well, the truth is," Jon said, looking about the room conspiratorially. Then he whispered in Karyn's ear: "I'm Supergirl!"
