The android looked at me and said "Where are the other AEP units? I would like to talk to them." I crossed my arms. "No fucking way! You raped Aubrey and Christopher right in front of me. I let it happen because they needed to be punished for attacking a clan officer. That is it! There is no way I'm letting you do that to the others!" I spat in anger. He shook his head. "Fine. I can back off for a bit after this much investigating, but there is clear evidence here against your clan. This unfortunately won't be all over anytime soon." he said. I had to walk him to the elevator. He was going to watch us from afar, but that still meant that Paul and Bret were not going to be able to return to the clan anytime soon either. I was not sure how I was going to handle it. Christopher and Aubrey refused to even look at me after that mess. That was fine with me. I did not need them for my upcoming projects. The others could get the bonus nanites by interacting with the PEA squad when they returned. It was only going to be a week in-game. Peyton, Connie, Tracie and Barbara were in for sure. That still left 2 spaces.

Sparks and Ryder would definitely love it if I gave those spots to Ashley and Sterling. Robin would be left out here, but he was a bit of a loner anyway. We had nothing to do but wait for Heat Clan to make its move. When the squad came back to the clan building, we welcomed them back with open arms. I was going to prepare the labs for the surgeries right away. I split them up between the 3 labs so that they would actually all fit on the observation tables. There was a week gap between them returning and them getting to the tables. It was now time to do the surgery. There was a small problem with it though. I had no clue what the hell I was doing. I had to get on the phone with the librarians. They did not like me, and I did not like them either. After what felt like hours of pulling teeth, I finally had a manual detailing how to do the procedure. A small victory. I was fussing over the group and told them to get ready for surgery. There were simply too many of them. I decided to go in order of my recruiting them. I looked at Alpha. I said "I hope you're ready. Today's the day." I was ready.

He shook his head. "Sorry, I don't think you should do it, Brianne." I just blinked. Did he change his mind? "What happened all of a sudden? We came all this way. What changed here?" I asked. His eyes widened a bit. "Sorry. I do want the upgrade. I meant that I think you specifically should not be doing the procedure, Brianne." I was not getting it. "Your human hands have tiny spasms and tremors that cause error. This is a precious piece of hardware." I just crossed my arms at that. "And your sensitive body parts." I sighed. He nodded his head tellingly. I could totally understand where he was coming from. Surgery was not something I expected to have to do here. I actually liked the squad I picked out. I had also invested a lot of time and energy into them If something went wrong now, that would be pretty bad. I held both my hands up in surrender. "I get it, Alpha. I'm an engineer, not a surgeon." I said. Since we currently in the PEA lab, one of the currently unaligned units snatched the instructions from me and moved away fast. It was from just behind me. That was not very nice, was it?

Before I could turn to berate him for the theft, he said "I can do it. My hands do not tremble when holding a knife." I was still miffed, but it worked out. I said "I was going to do it on a first come first served basis anyway. While you're at it, I will make you the clan medical officer. When any member needs medical care, you will be the one to provide it. Either we will send you out on the field, or we'll bring them here to you." He seemed very pleased with his new role in the clan. He began looking through the instructions. They were cyborgs. Photographic memory was not going to phase me. "I understand what is needed." he told me. I nodded and said "You'll be doing the surgery for 12 of the clanmate. There are PEA unit patients waiting for you in each of the labs. Good luck." I was going to leave when I turned back to him. I had to first give him the upgrades. I also had to give him a name. He was an officer. Iota was not working here. As he moved about, I could see that he was heavily bruised and scarred as well. He had an eyepatch over his left eye. Most likely a casualty of the training.
