Since they were government investigators, this was major news. Water Clan did not go quietly either. They scrambled their X-frames, PEA and AEP units. It was a bitter and desperate fight for control of the transmission hub. It probably would have been fun to be in the mix, but I did not want to risk my units. Especially not for Water Clan of all people. PEP units from all over the region joined the fray. Lots of casualties were sustained on both sides. At the end of the conflict, the government got control of a transmission hub. All the leaders of the 13 clans main clans were called together to talk about what to do next. Each of them were going to have 2 bodyguards for their protection. The leader of Cold Clan could not deny the strongest people in the region that he could ask were Paul and Brett. They agreed to protect him. I asked where it was taking place. It was in Micropolis. Our guild building to be precise. When they left. I told Terrance to get some representatives there. "They are packing serious heat there. Don't try anything funny or they will die." I told him. Lola and Cassidy were both there.
Asking them to let me video chat with them was easy. I got to see a bit of what was going on. The leaders were in the meeting room adjacent to theirs. Their bodyguards were all in the lobby. It was then that 2 cops flanking their boss, Terrance an hour into the meeting. I had told Chad that Terrance had a meeting with Cassidy and Lola today. Chad called them over so Terrance could get into that hallway. Once they were in their room, I could see him on the video. "Say hello to 2 of my children. Cassidy and Lola are both hybrids." I told Terrance when he gave me a small wave. He then looked across the hall into where the leaders were talking. "So those are the leaders of the main transmission hub clans?" He asked. I nodded. "Yep. Like I said, you do not want to fuck with them, but a sneak peek can't hurt. Maybe even saying hello. My clan is a vassal of Cold Clan. They will immediately clock you. I might even go so far as to say they might attack you at some point tonight if they notice you." Terrance just rolled his eyes. He got up and walked across the hall to them. He knocked on their door.
Once he did that, things got really tense. All the bodyguards from the lobby rushed to the hallway, weapons drawn. The 2 cops were caught unawares. Terrance held up his hands. "I just want to talk to somebody willing to listen to me. It is important that we get things under control." The leaders of Heat, Electric and Sonic Clans let him in the room. They were the Advocates after all. They actually did want to reach out to the humans. Now one was here to talk. All the Conqueror Clans were pissed off. So was Cold Clan. Terrance said his piece and then left the cops and a few numbers to the leaders of the Advocate faction. That was a great start. When he left, I got off the video call with my kids. I called Terrance. "Pretty bold move, but you got 3 clans ready to talk. Those are the Advocates, and they actually like humans, so you probably won't need to storm their hubs and kill them." He said "We'll see when we get sit down meetings." "Did it look like you were being threatened by the Conquerors? You were on Cold Clan's kill list, but now they all have you on theirs. Especially after Water Clan."
Terrance sighed and said "I already had my family moved to a safe location. We are en route there now." "Make sure you weren't followed. Remember, green hair and yellow eyes!?" I prompted. "PEA unit." he answered. "If you go get killed, who will be there to help do my dirty work for me? When are you hitting that bank? Toxic Clan is definitely going to gun for you, you know?" I asked in quick succession. "That is why I am going underground for a bit. Nancy and Marion can take on the Advocates and get their story." he said. That was probably for the best. "Stay safe, Terrance." I said seriously before hanging up. The next day, Cold Clan summoned us all to the giant complex they had with the transmission hub. They went over the meeting. Basically, Researcher Clans were going to largely stay out of it unless targeted or in an ally is attacked. Cold Clan was allies with Void Clan. That was a good position to take. They also reported that government investigators were no longer snooping around us. A relief for the cyborgs in Cold Clan's orbit. There were other minor things before dismissing us.
