My guild had to have helped with this. They did not give it back. "Looks like we're going to have to go underground with our families. No trips to the water park at the very least." Marion said to Nancy. He was trying to keep their morale up. I leaned forward. "Like I said, it doesn't have to be like that. Take out Toxic Clan and Water Clan. It really is that simple. Those bastards made things personal, and I want them dead. Just leave us alone. They actually want to fight and kill humans, so it will take up lots of time. I would consider a name change and moving somewhere else. But don't worry. You're government movers and shakers. You'll be approved for it." Terrance had been very quiet for most of the meeting. However, it was then that he furrowed his brows. "Wait. Stop. We have to go back. What do you mean 'those bastards made things personal' Explain." I leaned back in shock. I had tipped my hand. "Oh!? Well, they blew the giant crater in Micropolis. My kids' friends' parents died there. So tragic." Marion gave a whistle. "Wow. Look at him squirm. You gave us a lot. What are you hiding?"
Nancy
Glaring at them, I said "I don't know what you mean. For your sakes, you don't know either. The crater was caused by them. That is all the story Has to be. Case closed!" After all the progress made, I could not let it end on this massive fuckup. Nancy sighed. "It seems to me that you know exactly what happened that night and how it happened. Which, going by the fact you are a human officer in a cyborg clan, does not surprise me." she said. I looked at her. "What does surprise me is that you thought after over a year of searching for what happened and getting hung up on every lead, we would be thrown off the scent by you giving us your personal grudge." she continued. I sucked my teeth. I guess I was caught after all. "Can this part stay off the record?" I asked. They looked at me as if I was insane. "No." Terrance said. "Fine. I don't care. Have the whole truth! It doesn't change anything." I told them about failed honey pot and the attacks of human clan members. I told them about the hacking and the symbiotes. I even told them how I personally bullied them both into self destructing.
Finished, I looked at their stunned faces. "There. Fuck you guys." I said. "Let me get this straight. You and your fellow officers know how to hack the AEP units, have a whole building dedicated to reconnaissance and a single self destruction cleared a 3 block radius?" Nancy said with narrowed eyes. "That is a lot to swallow." Marion added. I scoffed. "Get back to Stretch and Sky. I sub contracted this work to them for a damn reason and I'm pissed off now. You're not getting anything more off of me." I gave them the silent treatment for 5 minutes before they moved on. They then went back to Stretch and Sky. They continued talking for 15 minutes. They then came back to me. "I'm not talking anymore. This is their job. I just suck at blending in." I said. "We get that. They confirmed half of what you said, but it seems they are a bit... sheltered." I rolled my eyes. "What? You don't have sympathy for a first field mission? Heartless." I said with a smirk. Marion dropped his fist into the opposite palm. "So that's it. I can give them a pass, but man, do they need work. A restaurant sit down's easy."
Nancy nodded in agreement. I shrugged "Not my problem. I sub contracted the job to them. Promised I get their own clan off the ground. Unless you guys are planning to kill or arrest them as soon as they step off the property. I gave them guns, but I bet you came prepared for that." They flinched as they looked at Stretch and Sky staring at us. "No. We were not interested in a shoot out today. I seem to have left my body armor at home." a displeased Marion said. "You were going to try to arrest them!?" Nancy asked. Marion shrugged. "They are so green, we could trick them into walking into a detainment cell." he said. I thought that it might actually work for him depending on the unit. In any case, I said "So we good or are we destined to be enemies. I will remind you I changed the directive from kill you all to just get you to move on. They will demand I send more PEA units of mine to kill you." Terrance leaned towards me. "Is that a threat, Brianne?" he asked. I shrugged. "Those are the orders from up top. If I wanted to follow them, you'd be dead by now. It was given out 3 days ago."
