After a very... happy day at school, Jon and Karyn returned to his house all smiles and extremely upbeat. Jon still couldn't figure it out, but for some reason, he had just felt perkier all day.
"I'll go get monopoly!" Karyn said as she rushed off. After meeting with Zoe at school, the three of them had decided to wait for Mikey to get home, and then play a game with the four of them.
Zoe came in shortly after, having had a short drama meeting after school. She looked significantly less goth, though still tended towards black. However, she was no where near the bitchy outcast she had been yesterday.
Maybe, I did make a bigger change than I thought. Jon still couldn't connect his wishes to the changes.
"How did your meeting go, Zoe?" Jon asked, knowing this Zoe loved to act.
"Great, tryouts are beginning later this week," Zoe said, smiling, "Did Karyn go get the game?"
"Yup," said Karyn as she came back into the room, "Got it right here."
Just as she said that, Jon and Zoe's mother came back from work. With a huge smile on her face and a hop in her step, she greeted her two older children and their friend.
"Hey kids! Another day of boardgames I see?"
"Yeah, mom," said Zoe.
"Wanna play too?" asked Jon, still not knowing how far the changes to his mother went.
"Oh, no thanks, I'm too old to be playing a game like that, I think I'm gonna go get changed and go for a run," she said, being 44, she still liked to keep in shape.
John didn't even register his hand dipping into his pocket to touch the stone that lay there as he said, "I wish you weren't and didn't think of yourself as too old to play monopoly."
Realizing what he had said, his eyes widened then shut as the stone flashed...
