We had to leave. Our main objective was done with. We went back up the stairs. We saw there were PEP units coming down. I had no time to wait and see what they all would do, so I killed them all. I was leading the way and we eventually got back to street level. We burst out of the building an people were still running around. The government goons were also on the scene. I put my weapons away and we blended in the crowd. When the stray PEP unit targeted us, they were targeted in turn by the cops. I got on my phone and called Paul. "Are you guys fucking done yet? We're behind the plan timeline!" he snapped as soon as he picked up. I winced and said "We just finished up. We're on our way to the extraction point. You can Brett should start heading over too." "Got it. We're coming. Brett's team split up from us, but we'll get a bullet in the head and still be there." Paul said before hanging up. The extraction point was the auxiliary parking lot on the opposite side of the park. We made our way there. I was looking around and saw a massive blockade of riot police. They looked tough.
Screeching tires filled the air as I saw the armored van approach. They were flanked by 2 X-frames each. Using their weapons and strength, they punched a huge hole through the police blockade. I saw the vans rip through the hole and approach. They spun and the back doors opened up. I got in the one with Caleb and Aaron. I turned to see Paul and a wounded PEA unit get in the van with Cameron and Eli. I also saw Brett carrying a PEA unit on his back as another was running through gunfire to the third van. That be being drove by Ava and Adrian. Once we were all in our vans, we began moving. The riot police did not have the time to regroup, so we used the gap in the blockade the X-frames made. We were out. Now it was time to split up and make our way back through our separate routes. The X-frames knocked off the initial followers, but they had archwings, so they could fly back to the base once we left the city. We were now on our own until we got back to the clan building. I trusted Caleb and Aaron knew what they were doing. I just looked out the window see all of the chaos.
Losing them was not hard. By the time we were halfway home, we were in the clear for government intervention. We made our way to out change point. We could not just continue rolling in such a hot and conspicuous van. We all had a set of regular vans waiting for us with gasoline, dynamite and matches to destroy the old one. From there, we would truly be scott-free. The van stopped on the side of the road. We were looking off into a river on our left side. "Alright. It's just under this bridge on the riverbank." Caleb said as he turned to us. We got out and went down the slope to get under where the bridge to the other side was. Sure enough, it was there. In the driver's seat were all the supplies we needed. We all grabbed a handful and got to work. Once it was done, I took the box of matches. "On my mark, we all get clear. This thing is going to blow." I instructed. They nodded and got ready to go. I lit the match and threw it into a puddle of the gasoline. It caught fire and we all ran down the slope together. We were shocked when we were face to face with several AEP and PEA units.
