I sighed as I continued walking. I knew the search would take me some time, but even after three hours, I had seen nothing that seemed out of the ordinary. "That's part of the problem though, isn't is?" I asked myself. For all I knew, everything in this town could have been the creation of someones imagination.

I shook my head. "That kind of thinking will only distract me." I mumbled. I looked around and spotted a convenience store. I reached into my pocket and produced a twenty dollar bill, the only money I currently had to my name. I sighed, and entered the store.

The clerk looked at me as I entered and walked up to the counter. He was relatively young, about eighteen or nineteen, I'd guess. "Hey, can I help you with something?" he asked.

"Yeah, I need to make some change. That won't be a problem, will it?" I asked, placing my twenty on the counter.

"Naw, not at all. What do ya want back?" he asked.

I considered for a moment, or at least pretended to. "Can I get it in all ones?" I asked.

"Yeah, I suppose..." the boy said. He then grinned a bit. "Going to a club later?"

I was momentarily confused by his question. Luckily, his comment registered with me before he noticed. "Um, no. Just need the singles." I said.

His grin widened as he handed me the twenty dollars. "Yeah, sure man. Whatever you say."

I shook my head as I accepted the money. I counted it, very quickly, before heading out of the store. "Thanks, kid." I said as I pushed the door open and walked onto the street once again.

I slipped the money into my pocket and gripped my stone. I looked around to ensure that no one was watching me before I activated it's power. Even though the glow from the magic was mostly hidden by my pocket, it was better to be safe than sorry when magic is involved.

As soon as the glow faded, I released the stone and pulled the money out of my pocket again. I counted the twenty $100 bills far quicker than I had the singles. I shoved them back into my pocket quickly. The last thing I needed was to be mugged when I was carrying the stone with me.

I continued walking, hoping that my search would yield something by the end of the day. Though, now I also wondered if the times I had used my magic to tamper with money had caused any headaches for the government officials who dealt with such matters. Any tests they could perform would, of course, reveal this to be real money. I grinned at the thought.

"No matter. I'll be able to fix it when I have the wishing stone." I said to myself. "If I choose to, of course."
