Since Cold Clan was gone, I could take out the new toxic organs. I told them about it. "Do you think you can put it in your bodies and use it on missions?" I asked. Adrian took one and placed it against his side. Closing his eyes, he said "I think I can integrate it. It will take some time to forge the connections using my nanites." I nodded and handed the organs out to them. Just like with the reverse process, it seemed to be a really energy consuming and painful process. I suggested that they sit on the chairs for comfort. It took them about an hour to integrate it. 03 moved it to his stomach. I made sure that he was comfortable. 04 was angry. "He doesn't need the help!" he snapped at me. I ignored him. "Keep all of this a secret from the other clans. This operation will ruffle lots of feathers." I said to them. "Don't worry. We won't tell Void Clan on you." 01 smirked. I nodded my head. Looking at them, I said "I'm glad you guys came. I was gone for a while because of 02, but I'm back now." 01 and 03 looked at each other. "The fact that you have been grieving him for a year is enough for us." 03 said.
01 smiled smugly. "We've been talking about searching for you. When we win and conqueror this continent, you'll be protected as our pet. But which one of us would you rather own you?" he asked. I shook my head. "Last time, you couldn't beat me in a single spar, 01. 03 beat me at arm wrestling at least." That made 01 frown and 03 smile. "Looks like he'll be going with me!" 03 said. I put my hand up. "I also beat you in fights 03. There's no reason why the faction I'm in can't win. Being a large vassal of Cold Clan means it will be super tough to topple the Researchers." That made 01,03 and 04 get aggressive with me. I chuckled as they all surrounded me. I looked over at 03 and smiled. "Hey! We're all friends here, 03. Let me off with a warning this time. I still have a bit of the ring rust!" 04 said "Sounds like it's the perfect time to get some payback for Volition Clan." 01 nodded and said "A fight it is then." "I keep telling you that we can't be friends when we're in 2 different factions. You really just never listen." he said as he cracked his knuckles. I sighed as I fought them all to a standstill.
I was not ready for it, and it was a 3 on 1 fight. They were still upset. None of them could feel as if the "conquered" me yet. The other AEP units looked at me and were immensely impressed. "How did you do that!?" was the big question Adrian asked me. "Even mutts like us are way stronger than you human are supposed to me." Eli added. I just pat the 2 of them on the heads. "I can't be a totally useless human if I'm the clan engineer." Colton crossed his arms and said "Abandoning us for a year is pretty useless to me." If he felt that way, it was up to him. I could not argue with that. To them, I did run away for a year. Colton walked up to me and said "I think you should step down as engineer for the clan." Everyone was silent. I shook my head. "No. I am the engineer. Paul and Brett would not be much better than me at the job." I told them. It was his turn to shake his head. "I want to be the new engineer." I scoffed and said "You can't. That position is taken." He allowed the lotuses on the back of his legs to appear. They granted him a big bonus to his speed and agility. "I'll fight you for it."
