Karyn stood by one of the doors on her side of the dollhouse, pushing it in slightly. There was no knob to turn, just a small round dowel sticking out from the door. The raggedy witch watched over her shoulder as her partner went all the way into one of the rooms on the other side.

Once he went out of sight, the little witch started ticking of things off a mental checklist. First, she scurried back to the patio and snatched the exit button from the table. Karyn came back and tossed the little object onto a bookshelf near the patio doors. It was hard for her to see, and Jon was a thread shorter.

Second, Raggedy Karyn went to the painting where the wishing stone had vanished to. She took a careful look to the room Jon was searching, and touched the stone with a mitten hand.

"I wish I knew what would happen if a human played with Jon or me as we are." The answer filled her stuffing mind immediately: nothing. If they were touched while in the doll bodies, they would be unable to move, but otherwise fine. The person playing with them would stay in their body, and Karyn and Jon would stay as dolls. The one worry of Karyn's mind eased, she politely thanked the stone. The stone sparkled in response, almost as if it was alive.

"Now, look very dull. It would be no fun if Jon saw you." She didn't make a wish nor was she touching the picture of the stone at the moment, but hoped that might do the trick anyhow. She thought about making a wish for someone to come play with her and Jon, but decided to hold off for the time being. She did wish, however, that she kept her dolls in a box next to the dollhouse rather than the closet across the room.

With that done, Karyn felt she had earned a small rest. After all, she was just a doll. She walked to the front room on her side of the house and pushed the door open. She was stunned. It was decorated, as best as it could be, like her own room. The colors were more vibrant and the patterns more simple, but the room had the robin's egg blue color of hers; a blanket decorated with white and red hearts; three short bookshelves and a small dresser with mirror above. She looked up and even saw the same stars painted on her ceiling.

The most notable difference was the addition of a bay window, just large enough for a tiny doll such as herself, to rest upon. She walked to it and hoped on a plush cushion, s little harder than her own stuffing, and looked longingly out the window. She got a very good view of her own person bed and an island made from discarded and dirty clothes.

Jon appeared in her door as she looked out to a giants room. "Are you even looking?"

Raggedy Karyn put her mitten hands in her lap. "It's not out there." She said truthfully. Raggedy Ann threw her own arms into the air.

"Fine," she said, "when I get the stone back, I'll wish that you would live here the rest of your life, because that seems to be what you want." She glanced out the window past Raggedy Karyn, "I just want to get out of here before someone sees me."

"Oh, my God, you've been a doll for all of two minutes and you're whining about it."

"Look at me!" She motioned, "I'm a girl toy. I have a skirt and pig tails! I need to get my wishing stone and get out of here!"

"You need some juice and crackers, and maybe a nap after that. Also, you're a doll; you don't have a sex."

Raggedy Jon waved her hand, "I can't believe that we have a stone that can do anything and you want to be turned into silly things."

Karyn stood up, "First, what's wrong with that? Second, how many people in the history of people have experience being a toy?" She held up both her hands, "Two. Two people of the billions of humans who have ever walked were made of cloth and stuffing. After this, I want to be a rock star singing in Paris or Rome. After that, I thought it would be amazing to be a whale and dive miles into the ocean. That's what I want to do with the stone. I want to use it to experience amazing things that noone has ever experienced. What did you want to use it for?"

Jon leaned her plush body back against the wall and sighed, "Money and power."

Karyn crossed her arms across her tiny body. "My idea's better."

Jon laughed, "Yeah, probably. I get it now. Look, I'm sorry for being such a . .."

"Jerk."

"Heh, yeah. All right, we'll stop looking for the stone for the time being. What do you want to do?"

Karyn smiled cheerfully and offered her arm. Jon hooked her arm through the witch doll's. "I wonder if the house came with a tea set. We could have a party." She led the way cheerfully down the stairs to the bottom floor.

As they went, the dolls heard a mechanical rumble run through the house. Not just the dollhouse; the person house.

Jon pulled up quickly. "What's that?"

"Probably the garage door. I guess Kati or Kevin are back from wherever." There wasn't an ounce of fear in Karyn's voice.

"Uh, maybe we should leave."

"Jon, we're fine. I doubt they will even come into my room."

"What if they do? What if one of them wants to play with us?"

Karyn looked back at Raggedy Ann, an extra bright smile on her doll face, "We're toys, Jon, what do you think we would do?"
