Weeks in game had passed since then. Liam and Vince returned to their house. To look after them, I gave them spots at the guild building to earn money. The salary was high, and they would learn how to hack and deal with a system of intelligence management. Lola and Cassidy had both been educated exclusively by their own parents since I took over the education of Ashton, Kendall, Riley and Corey. I also put them in the guild. The 4 of them could form their own projects and do things for the clan. If I promised them and their services to our liege, it would be better. When it got back to Cold Clan that I was involved, they were not happy. We had way more AEP units than them. We were led exclusively by humans, so they could not bully us into submission either and force us to dissolve. However, they wanted to dissolve the guild and kill all of the members since they had found both 10-001 and 05-001 for me. We told them it was not acceptable. Instead, they demanded that only they be the ones to mobilize and approve guild staff going forward. In essence, Cold Clan had stole it from us.

Since it was a spur of the moment thing for us, none of us really cared. There needed to be more staff. 5 of the older PEA units were now in the armory. The remaining 6 terminals were taken by PEP units that had an affinity for a skillset of hacking and data retrieval. There were 2 meeting rooms, so having the 4 on as "consultants" was something I could do. Cold Clan had the final say on what they would be doing, but there was definitely going to be a lot of down time when Cold Clan did not have any particular objectives. Chad was still the receptionist. That made him the perfect liaison between our clans. It was also his job to watch the eggs being incubated in the break room. Liam and Vince were not allowed to know that this guild was now for the Cold Clan. They had guessed that lots of the people working there were cyborgs. It was an open secret. and my kids were not holding that secret back from their friend. Apparently, they were both holding a grudge against all cyborgs, but did not want to upset their friends. Especially not after they lost their parents. Then they would be alone.

Chad and the other PEP units did not seem to mind. They had their own work to do and no frame of reference with dealing with the trauma of kids. Well, they technically did. Lore stated that they were pretty popular with people until their subversive nature was discovered. That took some level of charisma and social grace. These cyborgs simply did not want to do it. They were Researchers, not Advocates. That made me curious. There were 3 hubs for the faction on the continent. I wondered what they were researching. When the Cold Clan told Paul a few days later to give them the code to allow AEP units in, I stepped up and asked them. "I don't see why we have to tell you that." the clan leader said. I just crossed my arms and said "It seems you want critical information from us. I just want to know the general topics here." They were quiet for a bit. They then told me that they were researching the continent's atmosphere and environment. The Cold Clan was trying to see if their progenitors would be comfortable here. I did not get any intel on what the other Researcher Clans were doing.
