Chloe returned to her cubicle, and Joanna placed the envelope back into her purse. She continued with her work as usual, the same dull experience she had every day. After two meetings and hours of boring labor, she had completely forgotten about the morning's events. Finally, her day ended and she left to go home.
After Joanna ate dinner, she got a call from Chloe. "Hello?" she answered.
"Hey, Jo, it's me, Chloe. Could you come see me... like now?" Her voice sounded a little shaken up.
"Um... okay... is anything wrong?"
"Sort of. I can't explain over the phone. You'll see when you get here."
"If you say so." Joanna felt a little annoyed at Chloe's sudden demand, but she was her best friend, and she trusted her, despite her quirks. "I'll be right there."
She hung up the phone and wondered why Chloe was asking her to come at this hour. Either way, she hopped into her car and drove to her house. She walked up to the door and knocked. "It's me!" she yelled to Chloe inside.
"You can come in, it's unlocked," was the response back. Joanna slowly turned the doorknob and walked inside. She saw...
