"You have to wait a day," Jen said.
"What do you mean?"
"Exactly what I said. You can't change back until one day has passed."
"You mean I'm stuck as a guy until tomorrow afternoon?" Karl asked.
"And I'm stuck as a girl," Jen said. "I mean, according to what the stone told me, if it was blue right now, I wouldn't be able to change back either, not for another twenty-four hours, anyway."
"How am I supposed to live as a guy for a day?" Karl asked. "I don't know anything about it."
"You have me as a friend," Jen said. "I'm sure that some of my life rubbed off onto you."
"Not as much as you think," Karl said.
"Hey, I'm in the same boat as you, you know. I don't know the first thing about being a girl."
"Then we can help each other out," Karl said.
