Karl grabbed the stone from Jen.
"Karyn, what are you doing?" Jen asked.
"It's Karl now. Anyway, the stone is pink. If I try to make a wish, then I'll become myself again. I don't know about you, but I don't want to stay as the opposite gender longer than I have to."
"There's nothing wrong with being a guy, you know," Jen said.
"I wish my hair was black." But nothing happened. There was no urge to look away and no gender change. "Hey, how come it didn't work?" Karl asked. He was really looking forward to being Karyn again.
Jen grabbed the stone and said "I wish I knew why Karl didn't change gender when he made his wish just now." The stone glowed, causing them to both look away.
"Well?" Karl asked.
