"I'm sure you'll do great," Jon told her. "You were great in rehearsal." He hoped she actually was. But he figured it didn't matter at this moment.
She beamed at him. "Thanks, Jonathan..."
"Well, since I know Jonathan has nothing in his refrigerator...why don't you two grab supper at the end of the day? You can talk about your characters," Georgia said helpfully.
"That would be great," Lauren said. "I just have to call my mom and tell her. She worries, you know." She hurried off, her problem forgotten.
Jon looked at Georgia, who was masking a smile. "What was that about? Didn't you tell me I had to be careful, as I had to work with her?"
"Come now...Lauren is a sweet girl...and I just couldn't watch her try to come up with excuses to spend time with you. I decided to give her some assistance. And you can't exactly say no now...she's already telling her mother. You wouldn't want to disappoint Lauren's mother now, would you?"
"You know I'll be looking for a way to get even," Jon told her.
Another smile. "You are welcome to try, my friend."
"I'm glad to see you two getting along for once." Another familiar voice said. He turned. It was his mother.
