Jon had pointed his finger at the page, he was ready to swap bodies with a video game character, and the one he had settled on was Dr Gordon Freeman from the Half Life franchise. He'd always loved the idea that a scientist was saving the world instead of a muscled army grunt. Of course the scientist was using weapons and fighting an alien invasion, but still it was a cool idea. Not to mention he would be able to show off for a bit, particularly to Karyn who is a Half Life fan and get her jealous.
He pointed his finger at the page and spoke, "give me that body"
However, as he spoke, something happened that surprised him, he realized that he was very slightly off on his aim with his finger. From the angle he was standing at, it didn't look like he was pointing at Gordon Freeman on the Half Life promo, but rather Alyx Vance, Gordon's technophile and tomboyish FEMALE companion.
In an instant Jon felt his world change; he felt much shorter and could definitely tell something had changed. Looking down at himself, he could pretty much confirm it, he'd become the tomboyish young woman. Or at least the same woman that he now appeared to be the identical twin of, if she was real.
Jon looked over at the mirror near his window and saw the face that was staring back at him, a young beautiful woman with a tan skin and dark brown eyes wearing what looked like a simple bomber jacket over a t-shirt and jeans. There was a utility belt strapped across his waist that Jon could feel without even looking down, it hung heavy on his right hand side, where Alyx typically kept her gun and utility device. Just looking in the mirror could confirm he'd lost about a foot of height in the body swap.
Jon checked himself out; he could feel the weight of his new moderate sized but firm breasts hanging close to his chest under his new jacket. At the same time, he could feel the headband that was pinning his now short, straight black hair back from his face. He walked over to his wall and looked into the mirror that was hanging next to his window. Reflected back at him was the face of a tanned looking young woman with powerful dark brown eyes and a mischievous look staring back him. Jon could see the red highlights in his new black hair streaking back from his forehead into his short mane and under his headband.
Jon patted himself down and took stock of what had changed. Obviously he was a woman now, a feel of his crotch confirmed the lack of a void there but there didn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary for his jeans, other then they were form fitting. Funnily enough, even though Jon had swapped with the Half Life 2: Episode 2 version of Alyx, his clothes did not sport the hunter puncture wounds or the scar on her face that appeared on her face for most of the game play. He was completely clear of any sort of facial or clothing damage.
Reaching down for the weight on his belt, he found a fully loaded pistol and the utility tool attached to his waist. Having a gun and being able to use it were two of the most wished for things in a teenage boy's life and now he had them. But he wasn't sure if he was actually supposed to or allowed to carry the gun around with him or if he should take it off before going outside.
Jon decided that he may as well enjoy the swap for the time being and get some answers. He went over to his desk and turned on his PC. While waiting for his PC to boot, he took a look at his wallet, opening it up to check his driver's license. After a little bit of fumbling with his new slender hands, he opened the wallet up and extracted his license from it.
It seems that his identity was still his own, He was Jon Gibson, an 18 year old FEMALE with black hair, about 5 foot and brown eyes. So while Jon was obviously in the body of an Alyx look alike, the real world still referred to him as Jon and treated him as a member of the Gibson family.
After the PC booted, a quick Google search showed that Alyx Vance was still a woman in the Half Life series and not a teenage boy. So to Jon that seemed to indicate swapping with photos would not be the same as swapping with a person.
Jon looked around his room; it didn't seem that much different. However, a quick examination of his wardrobe seemed to show that it was packed with more bomber jackets identical to the one he currently wore. There were other clothes in there too, mostly copies of the shoes, shirts and pants that Alyx wore, along with some additional accessories like belt chains and even a spare pistol and some ammunition boxes. Obviously when he switched bodies, he switched wardrobes with Alyx's photo too, and that seemed to include all the clothes that she wore in any of her in-game appearances. Although she always seemed to wear the same clothes in all her appearances.
Jon didn't know what to do next though.
