Jon had pointed his finger at the page, he was ready to swap bodies with a video game character, and the one he had settled on was Master Chief from the Halo franchise. His reasoning being was that it would be kick ass to be a genetically engineered super-strong soldier for a while. Karyn always beat him at Halo and shed be so jealous of him if he turned up as the chief at her doorstep one day.
He pointed his finger at the page and spoke, "give me that body"
However, as he spoke, something happened that surprised him, he realized that he was very slightly off on his aim with his finger. From the angle he was standing at, it didn't look like he was pointing at Master Chief on the Halo promo, but rather Cortana, Master Chief's wise-cracking, super intelligent, FEMALE AI companion.
In an instant Jon felt his world change; he felt shorter and could definitely tell something had changed. Looking down at himself, he could pretty much confirm it, he'd become the beautiful smartarse hologram. Or at least the same woman that he now appeared to be the identical twin of, if she was real.
Jon looked over at the mirror near his window and saw the face that was staring back at him, a young beautiful woman wearing what looked like a skin-tight suit flashing programming code across its highlights. Although Jon realized that he wasn't actually wearing a suit, it WAS his body! His entire body was ethereal, almost completely transparent except for a pale purple glow that outlined his new figure and features.
However, he felt much different then he expected to feel after the body swap. Of course he didn't expect to be sporting an impressive rack, but when he touched his large breasts, he felt nothing. No feeling at all, a gentle touch of his crotch and he felt nothing there either.
Jon took a step forward, closer to the mirror to examine himself, or rather, he tried to. As he stepped forward, he saw that his entire leg disappeared after the first step; he couldn't see or feel anything. In a panic, Jon withdrew the leg and saw it fade back into existence.
This could be a bit of a problem, Jon thought to himself, as he patted himself down.
Not only was he a copy of a hologram, but he seemed to BE a hologram. Jon looked at the ground and saw a silver disc on the floor almost directly beneath him. The disc was beeping softly as he stood there, light rays arced up from the disc and seemed to connect with his body the same way one would expect a shadow too.
Jon wasn't sure what to make of this, he was a hologram of a woman, confined to a small metal disc and unable to move very far away from it, he couldn't even grab boob from his new body since he didn't feel anything. And the more he felt himself down the more he realized that part of the reason he couldn't feel anything is because his hand was going through his own body! Nothing was solid! His body didn't look that real either. It was identical to the CG model of the character the used in the games, Jon really was a computer game character now, quite literally, even down to the slightly unrealistic look of his new skin and face structure.
Jon decided that enough was enough, even if he was a hologram and couldn't touch anything, he could still reverse the wish and get back to normal, this was just too creepy.
Jon cleared his throat, a purely instinctive reflex for a former human turned hologram, and then started to speak; "You can " he was cut off by a noise the hologram plate was making.
The plate made a solid tone, rather soft but clearly noticeable, Jon looked down at it with concern, "What the?" were the last words he spoke before his form vanished in a flash of light. All that was left of Jon in the room was a holo-disc on the floor with a soft red light glowing on the side.
At this point, Jon probably didn't know what to do next if he could even do anything.
