It was time to leave. The other clans from Location A B or D did not seem interested in visiting. There was no point in us staying here much longer. I asked Paul and Brett what they thought. They were also ready to get back to the cab depot and the Red Grind. I looked at the Volition Clan leader and he rolled his eyes before walking over. I did not hold it against him. "What is it?" he demanded. He still did not like us. I said "08927 is a great guy. You should promote him to full clan member. Maybe even give him an X-frame." He looked taken aback. He then leaned forward to glare at me. "Are you telling me how to run my clan?" I shook my head. "Never. It's just a nice thing to do to advocate for useful people." The leader looked at me skeptically. "And what uses does he have, huh, other than driving humans around and incubating more of the PEA units?" he asked mockingly. "Well, he has a car. It's more subtle than using a truck filled with X-frames or archwings." He thought for a moment. "That is useful. I will have to think about it." he said. "We are leaving." I told him. He nodded dismissively.
As we were getting out the car, I slipped him one of the X-frame sexual upgrades. "Here. Don't tell anyone you have this. Stronger units in the clan might try and take it from you if they know you have one." I said to him in a very low whisper. This made him more shocked and happier than giving him the car. "I'll cherish it forever! Thank you so much. If you ever need a ride, you can call me." he said in gratitude. I nodded and he left the depot. The truck was still there, so he got in the moving truck and began his solo journey to Jazni Town. I hoped he made it back soon and safely. We had 9 AEP units in the clan. It was up to us to name them. It would make things much easier on us. There were 7 males and 2 females. Nolan, Adrian, Caleb, Cameron, Aaron, Eli and Colton were the males. They all seemed to like their names. Ava and Charlotte were the females. It seemed that Charlotte did not like hers. I asked her what she wanted to be called. She just looked at her parents, Katie and Erin, for a better name. They both drew a big blank. That was fine with me. She just kept the name.
All she could do was pout and whine. Katie and Erin tried their best to calm her down. As the next stage of their evolution, the PEP units were very proud and protective of the AEP units. Especially the ones they helped create personally. Erin put on his police uniform and got ready to do his job. Finian did as well. Those at the Red Grind also had their outfits to put on. They had shows to perform and alcohol to serve. The cab drivers could go out in any clothes, so they started their day immediately. Cecil and Rosalyn did not have a job, so they got to be the communal caretakers of the AEP units in the clan building. They really took pride in providing care and education to them. Sunny and Lucy had no real care for the children aside from their own. The 4 hybrid children were old enough to join the party. Caleb and Cameron were the AEP units that Sunny and Lucy had. They got along with the kids fine. They were protective of their older siblings when they visited the clan building. Whenever one of the others came to tease the human-cyborg hybrids, Caleb and Cameron got in their way.
Both of them had elements of the wind and pierce affinities. Both could manipulate the nanites of their bodies to give themselves claws and talons. They were razor sharp, but only 6 inches long. I thought it was cool. The pure pierce AEP units could produce talons and claws over a foot long. Caleb was Sunny's child and could use the lotus as a rocket booster. It allowed him to fly in the air. Cameron's lotus was a pressurized air cannon. It worked by collecting air in the open cavity on his stomach and then firing a very powerful vortex of air. I spoiled them the most. That really pleased Sunny and Lucy. Calling me out for favoritism was Ryder. His AEP was fathered by Alex, so Ava also had a lotus. Because Ryder had a radioactive affinity in his X-frame, Ava inherited that organ as well. She could radiate radioactive energy to damage her enemies. Her lotus was a detachable implosion bomb. It also used an air vortex for its effect. It did damage, but nothing compared to a pureblood. I pat Ava on the head and told him his daughter was very strong too. Maroon gave birth to Peyton.
