They had arrived at a pretty nice place, turns out that Sarah had moved up in life from being a slut with her legs behind her ears since high school. Sarah had ended up doing fairly well for herself. Unfortunately her current residence was not the best place to live. Karyn walked around the car and stood side by side with Jon.
Jon took a deep breath and exhaled. Karyn waited for Jon to walk into the house and ring the bell, he didn't, and he just stood there.
Karyn put her hand on Jon's shoulders, luckily she wore some high heeled shoes today, she was practically the same height as Jon, "I'm sorry", she asked.
Jon was quiet, "Yea", he said.
Karyn turned Jon to face her, "Jon, I don't care what you do, I love YOU, regardless of what you look like", she said.
Jon put his arms on Karyn's shoulders, "Yes, I know, but I'm also remembering why I stayed as Sarah in the first place"; he gave Karyn a kiss on the forehead.
Jon and Karyn walked up the long path to where Sarah was, there were plants and flowers of all kinds lining the path to their destination. It was such a beautiful place
They arrived at the grave marker for Sarah, it was framed by a few flowers and photographs but other then that, the grave was bare. None of Karyn's contacts were able to tell Karyn what Sarah was doing because they didn't know that she had died nearly 3 years ago. A car accident shortly after graduation killed her and Biff Meadows on their way to a college enrolment day. The drunk driver was Steve Farber who was now in a county jail for manslaughter.
"You could always wish to look like your old self again", Karyn said.
Jon replied, "I think I've made up my mind, I'm going to stay like this", Jon said.
Karyn brought her lips to Jon's, tasting the peach lipstick she loved so much, smelling the conditioner of Jon's hair and the feel of his cheeks in her palms, "I love you, let's go home", she said.
They took each others hand and walked back to the waiting taxi.
"It's not fair", Jon said as they climbed inside.
"I know", Karyn sighed, "But the best you can do now is take care of her body for her"
"No, it's not that"
"Then what"
"I can't help but wonder, if I hadn't swapped bodies with Sarah, if this would have even happened, we were the ones destined to die in that crash", Jon said.
"You can't control destiny Jon", Karyn replied, "Even with a magical wishing rock"
As the taxi sped off, Sarah McMillan tombstone remained in sight, there was a ghostly figure of a young man sitting on the marker that no one could see. Sarah she saw a car with two strange but familiar people looking at her house and talking to each other. She couldn't place where she knew them from though.
