As he was leaving I rolled my eyes. "Let's not be too hasty. If you don't want to be a mom, you can just as easily be a dad." Nathan stopped and turned to me. "You want me to knock up a female human?" "That would be nice. I will even let you pick the woman. Being a family man might even give you a leg up in the eyes of the mayor." I said. I was interested in what he would do. He went to me and held his hand out. "Fine. Give me the damn semen replicator!" he said. I handed it to him and he left. He got married to a woman who was... not all there in the head. She was bipolar and a little bit of a junkie he found on the streets outside town limits on a patrol. However, with a begrudging Nathan helping her get clean and supplying good dick every night, he was able to get her to agree to a wedding. The pregnancy announcement was not really a surprise. I told Erin and Finnian to let Nathan have the job. I also stressed not to let Nathan know that I told them to pull back. I wanted to stay true to my word with him. He did his part and so did I. That did not mean that we liked each other.
It was ultimately Nathan that got the job in the end. Nathan tried to gloat to me, but I shut him down quick. "I never got in your way. I let you get this job, just like I let you live when salt water was splashed on you in the middle of the street." I said as I pat him on the shoulder. There was nothing that he could say to that. Nathan went back to his own apartment. I was keeping my ears to the ground in terms of information. The game was slowly, but surely progressing. With the new PEA units, the many transmission hubs across the continent were getting really aggressive with their mission assignments. That meant even less good tasks in small towns. It did make frequent low risk tasks spawn endlessly. We were hacking and taking out low level punks in town every day. Re:birth and Volition Clans were pumping the PEA units out like crazy. Keith and Sarah were always fucking. That was not a real surprise to me. He did stop attacking. I guessed the possibility of me aborting a PEA unit in his nice and well-maintained X-womb made it not worth the risk anymore. A good idea on his part.
We had done our share with 6. The units in the safehouses were training them for the next phase of the subversion and conquest of the planet. We had slipped into the early midgame already. Agents from the government were scouring the streets of the major cities for the cyborgs. Androids were deployed to deal with rouge syndicate groups. However, there were whispers that the lower numbered units were getting together. Who knew what they wanted? All I knew was that I wanted to keep my clan safe from harm. That was when I got a message from the library. I was being called into a meeting. Someone wanted to talk. It was a bit ominous. All the PEP unit leaders in the town would be there. That meant that Keith, Niko and Nathan were going to be there too. I decided to go by myself. I knew that I could fight my way out of any problems. When I got to the library, I was ushered to the top floor. I sighed in disappointment. There was a large meeting room there. "We're not going downstairs?" I asked. "There will be several unauthorized personnel here at the meeting." one said calmly.
In a certain sense, I was one of them. That made me a bit annoyed. I was the first to get there, so all I could do was wait. Niko and Keith were next. They were bickering about something when they entered the room. They saw me and it stopped. "You can continue. I don't care if you want to argue. It would make things less boring." "Why should we entertain you?" Keith said. I just shrugged. "I consider you both family. Gossiping isn't something that I care about." I told him. He slammed his hand on the table in front of me. "Stop saying that! I'll never consider you my brother." he yelled. "No way. We're hole brothers and we've had too many threesomes with Sarah to back out of it now. That's why I can't kill you. Isn't that nice, little bro?" I teased. He looked ready to punch me when Niko said "Why are you so abnormal? Alexei had been reaching development milestones at an exponential rate. His education has been going well too." I nodded and said "Maybe he can come over to play with his siblings someday." Niko gave me a coy smile and said "You know that's not a good idea."
