Coach Stabinsky was the owner of the gymnastics gym. He was a gruff man and did not take any nonsense. Due to it being a small town, aside from my kids, he only had 5 other children in his class. Although 9 seemed small, it was actually a decent sized class. Gymnasts can either compete as an individual or as a team. Teams of 4 competed on every possible event and combined their scores at the end, The sought the highest overall score out of all the teams. For individuals, the gymnast could either do the all-round competition or a singular event. In the all-round competition, you totaled your score for all of the events together. So, with a class consisting of 4 girls and 5 boys, Coach Stabinsky could actually arrange for the kids to go to meets. The girls had a full team with Riley. The boys did not. I told Coach that I wanted my boys only doing their events. That was for 2 reasons. One, I did not want it too obvious that these superkids were dominating adults as children and obliterating every record in the books in each event. That would garner attention. Two, the others sucked.

For the girls, Riley would be the star and whizz kid of the female division. "Let the others get a chance to shine. They can do the all-round competition." I said. He thought about it for a moment. "Liam and Vince have been really working hard. We can do it your way." he said at last. The order of the competitions was always the team competition, all-round and then the individual events. The order of the venues for the girls were vault, bars, beam and then floor. For the boys it was floor, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars and then high bar. Because I was limiting the boys to only the individual competitions, Riley was not allowed to compete in any of them. Not that she actually needed to with her all perfect scores in the team and all-round competitions of the meet. The boys were perfect in their events too. Liam and Vince got in the top 10 out of 28 competitors. Not bad for a first meet. My kids all got gold medals for their efforts, and we celebrated hard. Lemonade flowed in the main hall of the clan building. All the PEP units got black out drunk and were very happy. Sunny and Lucy too.

I continued to send them to the gym to get training. They needed to learn and see the basics. They got that easily. Now it was time to get some advanced training. Coach was all too happy to do it. The more they won, the better it would be for him as their teacher. Stabinsky used to be pro. Not a champion or a medalist, but the coach was good enough to be consistently ranked among the top 50 in his time. That meant that the actual amount of skills that he could impart on the children was relatively high. I could appreciate that for now. To get the greatest moves and techniques, we would probably need a better coach. However, with their perfect executions and the level of the other kids meant that they would be on top for a long time to come. Even when faced against adults, they might even edge out top gymnasts due to the penalties for the errors they would get attempting the more difficult moves. It was a good bet. If it was not working out after a time, we would just get a better coach. Not only were they learning and growing, but they knew how to socialize with full blooded humans well.

It also was not the only thing that they did. Their teachers also taught them math and science when at home. Other PEP units would teach them how to handle their weapons and hand to hand combat. It was something that did not need to be mandated as everyone wanted to do it. Having their hand in training the new generation of cyborgs was desirable to all the PEP units in town. Once again, the children outpaced their weaker teachers in about a month or so. That switched all of their focus on how to actually enhance their skills. My children were all getting information on how to be good agents for the transmission hub. They learned combat with weapons and hand to hand. They also learned some computer engineering, programming, hacking, psychology, chemistry, anatomy, seduction and communications. Basically, they were making them perfect spies. It was not going to be fair. There was a bit of excitement that I had. Something more immediate was Erin, Finian, Nathan and Mandy getting a promotion to detective. They were doing great. The hub wanted to kill the chief.
