Jon crept down the hall quietly, it was still early morning, he stopped at Zoe's doorway and looked inside. Her room was dark.
Zoe was a strange person; she acted Goth while all the time she really only paid lip service to it, her friends Zelda and Athena were the same. Jon could never figure out why, sure his sister was a little bit of a prat sometimes, but that was only really when there were guests over to "keep up" her Goth appearance, but when she was home alone, she was never noisy, or angry or even annoying. She was unusually quiet, barely talked to people and kept to herself.
Although Jon did catch her once in her room, she was painting of all things! Zoe explained to Jon that she was an artist, but she was trying to paint the despair of the world around her, he couldn't figure out how a painting of a pair of rabbits in a brightly lit field were meant to express that and when he confronted her she admitted that her Goth front was really just a way of getting into the heads of real Goths, so try and bring some semblance of understanding to those whiny life-hating kids that most people these days referred to as emo.
Zoe once told him that she'd give up the Goth lifestyle eventually, except that it really gives her the privacy and isolation she desperately wants so she can think and paint. After all, who'd want to be friends with socially isolated people anyway, right?
Jon snapped out of his flashback and crept slowly into her room, he could see a lump on the bed that appeared to be moving. It seems that Zoe was home, and that she wasn't awake yet either. Jon reasoned that she was perfect to test on; after all, he can always explain it all to her once he's got Karyn sorted and all his plans come to fruition.
Jon was very quiet as to not make a sound when he stood in her bedroom.
