So, Jon is headed down the hallway, trying to figure out what he could test the wish on. There were sounds down the hall and downstairs, Jon figured Zoe was either asleep, or stirring or on her way to getting ready for a trip out. It was a Saturday so it probably wasn't for school. There were times when Jon wondered why school returned from break on a Friday rather then a Monday like any sane person, but he reasoned it was so kids couldn't skip the first day of school and claim it on a "long weekend trip home".
There were sounds downstairs too, it sounded like Nikita, the family's German Sheppard was awake and running around too, she must be desperate for something to eat.
Mum must have forgotten to feed her again Jon guessed. He couldn't hear anything from his mother's bedroom so he assumed she was gone too, but the door was closed so he didn't know for sure if she was or not.
There were 3 potential candidates to test the wish on, firstly, Zoe, secondly Jon's mum Linda, if she was home, and finally the dog. It was annoying that there were no males in the house, Jon was a little squeamish about switching body parts with a girl, but at least it wasn't an animal he was swapping with.
