Having Athena catch Karyn wasn't ideal; Jon didn't want his friend to get hurt. Then again, having her get the stone would be less ideal. If she were to find out what he had done to the girls, she would be livid. Who knows what she'd end up doing?
"Good job, Athena!" Jon said, coming down the hallway, "Now wait here."
He stepped over his the pair and marveled at how well Athena had made herself up to look like Karyn. The two could be sisters. That's what gave him the idea.
Closing the door behind him, Jon beelined for the stone. It was exactly where he had left it a few days earlier. His new dreaming power was so much fun that he hadn't been using it at all. Not that he forgot it. No way. You don't have a powerful magic artifact in your bedroom and forget about it, you just try to ignore it.
Gripping the stone in his hand he whispered, "I wish that every time I changed Athena's dream, I changed Karyn's dream the exact same way."
The stone flashed. Jon had been staring at the stone, and a blue dot had imprinted itself on his retina from the brightness of the stone. He knew the dot would fade, unlike the wish, which was permanent.
It wasn't the worst type of wish. Sure, it was irreversible, but he could always change details of Karyn's life just by going into her dreams. Yes, Jon felt fairly confident that he'd done the right thing. Well, the right thing for him, at least.
He opened the door and saw Athena and Karyn, lying on the floor in each other's arms, giggling.
"Alright girls, ready for school?" He asked, slipping the wishing rock into his pocket and heading down the hallway.
"Yes sir!" they answered in unison, leaping to their feet, seemingly eager to follow along, each grabbing one of his arms and hanging off them just as they hung off his every word.
